Finally!! Something that works!!
UPDATEJust wanted to take a moment to add to my original review. This cable is still going strong despite routine plugging & unplugging & one case of Mr. Coordinated here getting his feet tangled up & yanking the connection apart. This is the way things SHOULD be manufactured!*****************************************I feel like I've been through all seven of Dante's infamous layers since starting my quest to find a 3.5 mm extension cable for my headphones. Maybe it's ridiculous to get this upset over a patch cable, but...I grew up in the 70s and 80s listening to loud music. I played 7 different instruments in a very competitive HS band, had my own band with some friends playing bars before we were even old enough to BE in a bar and was on the ground floor of early competitive automotive sound systems. When I built my first PC some 15 years ago, I bought (and still have) a set of Klipsch ProMedia 4.1 speakers. Now my wife and I live with her paraplegic mother who, bless her heart, thinks Lawrence Welk is "New Wave." I'm seldom able to crank my audio so I have to jam through my Scosche reference headphones (I highly recommend those, too, BTW. No, they're by no means the absolute best but for <$100 they're definitely impressive, or they are to someone with near-perfect pitch).Believe it or not, I have purchased and returned no fewer than 6 different cables online and locally in a seemingly futile effort to get just one that can bear being connected, disconnected and re-connected without losing a channel for whatever reason they all seem to lose one. I have spent as little as 99¢ and as much as $12.99 only to have to return each one because they worked flawlessly until I had to, for whatever reason, disconnect them.Enter iMBAprice. Never heard of'em. The cable had 1 review. It was a glowing review, but just the one. It also was twice as long as what I was really wanting (kinda like this review!!). But, the price was better than all the 3' cables I was looking at so I said, WTH, and decided to give it a shot.Am astonished to say I have been astonished by this cable! It has, thus far, performed flawlessly. I have had to disconnect the cable several times and I always hold my breath when I reconnect but there has been no problem each time. This cable even managed to remove an irritating feedback hum but that could have been a similar flaw in each of the other cables that crapped out on me.I highly recommend this iMBAprice product. Excellent performance and a pretty darn good value.

DOES THE JOB BUT... **REVIEW UPDATE 11-11-13
Ok, this does the job... I can plug it into my TV & it will extend my headphones or ear buds enough so I can sit on the couch & watch TV at night & not disturb my sleeping Granddaughter (when she spends the night). So in that respect it does its job BUT there is quite a bit of static... especially at low volume levels or w/ the ear buds. If I have the volume turned up to the normal to slightly above normal level that I usually have the volume, it's not too noticable but if listening at lower volumes it's very apparent. I think this cable would be fine for infrequent use & for reasons such as mine, to keep from waking a child or disturbing apt. neighbors if listening to high volume programs late a night. But, I would not recommend this if you're planning on using it frequently or for listening to music.**REVIEW UPDATE:I had originally given a 3 star review for the reason mentioned above. Well, let me tell u how gr8 this company is on customer service!!! I didn't even contact the company about this item, they read the review & contacted me! When I got the 1st email, I actually thought it was some kind of scam so never responded. Then when I got the 2nd email, I did respond. They said they would be more than happy to send me another cord, free of charge b/c they wanted me to be happy w/ the product. I agreed (still somewhat skeptical) but as the women (Alice) from Amamax stated, my new cord arrived promptly & free of charge!! And, I'm thrilled to report that the new cord is functioning perfectly. No static or feedback at all, just good crystal clear sound! Obviously, the previous cord was faulty. So refreshing to have a company actually contact ME b/c I had a problem, instead of the other way around. I never heard of such a thing. Wish I was able to give them 10 stars instead of 5!!! Buy this cord, I think you'll be more than happy!!! Thanks Amamax!!!! :-)

Can't be this cheap and be high quality...
Can't be this cheap and be high quality... I was wrong! Talk about perceived value! Just cause it's cheap doesn't mean its not high quality! As a YouTuber on a budget, I am always looking for cost-effective ways to make my life easier as a content producer. Having a high-quality headphone splitter in my studio has proven itself more than useful for many different applications.Reason for purchasing:I create content for YouTube, which means I am recording my voice for many different things. My problem was, I have *noise cancelling* headphones, and if any of you have tried talking without being able to hear your own voice, it becomes discombobulating after a few minutes. So you may ask, "why not take your headphones off while recording?" well, I have to monitor the end-result of the audio through my studio headphones to make sure the quality is exceptional for my subscribers. So what I first did was to enable "listen to my device" under recording options, but I found that there was a delay in the feedback, that was too distracting and I couldn't bear it.So to make my life easier I bought this headphone splitter. What this allows me to do is have my Microphone and Computer feedback coming directly to my Studio Monitor Headphones without any delay, and with perfect clarity! It also saved me the hassle of constantly unplugging cables because I could only have one connection at a time. This product does exactly what it says it does. It allows you to have multiple headphone connections into one outlet. 2x 3.5mm headphone cables plugged into this splitter, and then you plug the male end into your headphone jack on your computer, or any other device that has a headphone jack.☆☆☆☆☆ Rating because:+ RoHS compliant (which means there is no harmful substances created with this splitter)+ 24K gold plated (high quality sound with little to no distortion)+ lifetime warranty (who doesn't like a lifetime warranty on what they buy!?)+ Extremely affordable ($5 currently on Amazon)+ Snug Connection (doesn't come unplugged if snagged)

Compatible with Audio connection only. Read the review for more.
TL;DR: The 12-foot version of the cable is only compatible with TRS (2 coloured rings on the connector)'s. You can't use headphones or earbuds that have a microphone on them (TRRS or 3 coloured rings on the connector). Audio only connectors or they wont fit.---I purchased this mid-September 2015; as I already owned the 6-foot version and liked it, but desired something a bit longer.I used the 6-foot version with a pair of Sol Republic JAX earbuds and they functioned fine with no problems. Upon receiving this I went to use it with the earbuds and could not plug the earbuds into the connector. The earbuds use a four-conductor TRRS (Tip-Ring-Ring-Sleeve) connection. No matter how much force I applied; including hammering the earbud's connector onto a table - to the point of gouging the rubber covering, the earbud connector would not seat past the center ring.I directly emailed iMBAPrice; asking if the connector on the 12-foot cable was different than the one used on the 6-foot, they responded that all the connectors on every version of the cables was exactly the same and that I had most likely received a defective one. They advised me to contact Amazon for a replacement, after explaining to Amazon what I had experienced and what iMBAPrice said - they (Amazon) shipped out a replacement cable. The second replacement cable also had the same issue, where the Jax's connector would not seat past the center ring. Upon contacting Amazon for the second time; I was escalated to an American rep who said there was no point in sending out a third cable as it would likely have the same problem. I was given a full refund and apology in which they stated that this would be forwarded to their product investigation team, to see what is going on with the cables. They also said that I could keep or donate/throw out the cable.Fast forward a few months and I've been enjoying the Amazon Exclusive - Sennheiser HD 598 Special Edition Headphones that were practically being given away on Black Friday. When I remembered that I still had the cable! Now I finally had access to a 3-conductor TRS (Tip-Ring-Sleeve) connector that didn't have the second ring on the connector for microphone capabilities.Guess what... The HD 598's audio-only connector fit perfectly!4/5 stars for the connector being incompatible with TRRS, when the 6-foot cable is. Contrary to what the manufacturer says. 6-foot versionSol Republic JAXAmazon Exclusive - Sennheiser HD 598 Special Edition Headphones

Highly recommended
I need to extend my headphone 3.5mm cable to reach an amplifier across the room. I was pleasant surprised by its quality. The cabling itself is of decent thickness and pliability. The terminations are sturdy and appear to be high quality. No declarable loss of audio quality.Overall, I highly recommend.

Not hi-fi
Took a while for me to test properly. With my B&O headphones the sound was muffled and had a strange echo in the background, then found another audio cable lying around and boom, sounded great so I don't know if this cable is just of horrible quality or 25 feet is just too long but I figure the manufacturer should not produce something if a decent sound wont be produced from it.

Great price, reasonably well made cable, works well. The couple of reviews complaining of poor sound quality were concerning, but I can detect no degradation whatsoever with my cable, the sound quality is excellent, exactly the same as it is without it. I was hoping it'd be as thick and sturdy as my headphones' cable, but it's not quite that good. Still, it seems to be superior to other headphone extension cables in sturdiness, and it's far from flimsy, just not quite as thick as I was hoping it would be.

Avoid
Received two of these. The first one provided garbled monaural audio though my headphones, so I returned it. The second had a similar problem, but rotating the headphone jack in the slot made it work... Until I tried to remove my headphones from the extension. I had to resort to pliers to remove my headphones from this cable, which destroyed this cable in the process (and very nearly my headphones).Bottom line: Buy something else.
