I bought this, as much as anything, to help drive my ideas about how to modify a particular piece of furniture and to assist in that modification. On receipt, I was a little disappointed by the lack of a good set of instructions with appropriate images, but once I decided to have a play with it based on the bullet-point instructions, it became obvious that it was largely self-explanatory. Provided you follow the instructions (such as they are) rigidly and perhaps spend a bit of time checking the video on YouTube, then it is delightfully simple and gave faultless results first time! That involved no less than ten new dowel holes of two different diameters (mixed) across three pieces of wood and everything went together perfectly first time.Key positives:- Well thought through design- Ability to centre the holes just using the tool and not needing to measure separately- Excellent tight fit between the supplied drills and the template- Good quality drill bitsAreas that could be slightly better:- Metal body rather than plastic could potentially improve the design- Method of clamping the tool to the workpiece would be useful- Slightly less play in the alignment guide- Better manualTop tip:- Ensure that you drill at high speed - too low a speed can lead to unnecessary vibration around the jigOverall, this has been a fantastic purchase that I would recommend to anyone! Great value for money!

One star across the board based just on the packaging alone. This is a cheap product. There's absolutely no need to encase it in near-impenetrable plastic that is so tough to open, then when you finally do cut through it, it leaves almost razor sharp pieces of plastic that you could easily slice your hand open with.Opening this product was an ordeal that other manufacturers stopped putting people through over a decade ago.Product itself feels pretty cheap. Cheaper than the plastic it comes in.

Sorry, trotz der vielen "negativen" Bewertungen gab ich diesem Set eine Chance.Ich muss aktuell einige stumpfe Verbindungen erzeugen, also 2 Bretter nebeneinander. Das Produkvideo angeschaut, Rezessionen gelesen und trotzdem bestellt.Fazit: keine bündige, stumpfe Verbindung möglich, immer einen Versatz gehabt, der auch noch unregelmäßig."Profi" geht anders, ich bin nur häuslicher Handwerker, aber so geht das leider alles zurück.Muss mich eben nach was anderem Umsehen ... schade, macht trotz allem einen stabilen Eindruck, wenn jetzt noch der praktische stimmen würde ...Die Feststellschraube drückt beim Festziehen dafür das die Bohrschablone leicht "schräg" gedrückt wird, dadurch erhält man ein schiefes Bohrloch, bei 2 brettern dann eben zwei. Dadurch entsteht dieser Versatz.

Really disappointed. It’s a nice idea, seems well thought out until you start using it in a real project. There’s maybe 0.5mm of play in the drill size selector, which due to the way you use the jig ends up been twice that out, so L joints are 1mm out - that’s a lot when needing precision for dowels. Then the vertical alignment is plastic and that has some give in it, so you can easily end up with dowels even more out of position. I bought a Joint Genie instead, expensive but absolutely precise - shame I can’t return this!

This was the very first time I've used anything like this and it was very easy to use. It was perfect to make a bedroom furniture using dowels for the first time ever
