Great product derailed by easily avoided blunders...not an $80 kettle
BOTTOM LINE:Quality engineering and construction complemented by lazy and haphazard functionality. When you pay $80 for a kettle you assume it goes through some tight quality control…that clearly didn’t happen here. Scrap the “upgrade” and knock $20 off the price and this is easily a 4-star review.Note: Despite my disappointment in this kettle, I will say that I think it would be very good for pour-over brewers as it seems to perform those functions well.PROS:- Quality constructionThe kettle is solid, tight, well-balanced, and flows perfectly.- Fast heatingI clocked boiling 0.5 liters at 3:40 (20 secs less than the advertised 4 mins)- Precise temperature controlThe temperature control knob is well-engineered and rolls effortlessly up and down the scale. The temp is easy to set, easy to change and last used settings are the default when powering up.CONS:- No TimerThe “upgraded” picture of the base unit makes it look like they added a timer…but they didn’t. What they added was a stopwatch and then mislabeled the button TIMER. A “timer” could be used to alert you when you’ve reached optimal brew time (example: a 4-minute timer for a French press). This kettle only has a second counter (that’s called a stopwatch).- Stopwatch format makes no senseThe stopwatch only counts 3-digit seconds (000-999), not minutes/seconds (00:00) like a normal stopwatch. So if I did want to use it to time a 4-minute French press, I’d have to mentally convert 4 minutes to 240 seconds. Who uses a 3-digit seconds-only stopwatch???- Unnecessary beepingThe kettle beeps when it reaches the target temperature (that’s useful), but then when you go to make your beverage, it beeps again when you pick up the kettle…why? An alert that tells me my water is ready is welcome information. An alert that tells me that I just picked up the kettle is unnecessary noise. Unfortunately you can’t mute one without muting the other.- Poorly written user manualThe user manual is poorly written and confusing. Examples: 1) The steps under BASIC OPERATION only tell you how to turn the appliance on and off. 2) The MEMORY MODE section discusses memory that allows you to lift the kettle without it going into MEMORY MODE, but doesn’t explain what MEMORY MODE is or what the kettle does when it DOES go into MEMORY MODE.

Quits working after a few months
I really liked this thing at first, but the electrical contacts in the base are so flimsy that they fail to make contact after repeated use. I actually took this thing completely apart (triangular shaped screw heads and all) and fixed the contacts only to have them do the same thing a month later. Total garbage.

Love This Water Kettle!
This Miroco kettle is great. It fits nicely next to the coffee grinder making for a convenient coffee station. The kettle controls are easy to use, water heats quickly and to the desired temperature. Fahrenheit and centigrade settings are available at the push of a button and remain in that measurement unless the base is unplugged which then defaults to centigrade. The sleek look and the gooseneck design make this kettle ideal for pour overs, precise pouring amounts, etc. I generally use an Aeropress coffee maker regularly and this kettle is great when adding the water to the Aeropress cylinder. Great addition for anyone who needs temperature specific hot water quickly and reliably.

Awesome alternative to the Stagg EKG
A very nice alternative to the Stagg kettle. Excellent pour control and super quick to heat. The only thing I am not fond of is the plastic temp adjustment knob. Mine isn't centered well and has a noticable bump when turning because it's not seated well. Also, the fit finish and quality of the plastic for the knob doesn't fit the otherwise extremely high quality of the rest of the kettle and base.

Sleek, Ingenuitive Design with functional usages.
The kettle itself is very sturdy with a sleek gooseneck design, while the base is more lightweight and prone to knocking around on the kitchen top.I only use the kettle for tea and am not picky with temperature. With that said, my main concern is speed with which the kettle heats, and this kettle heats up very quickly!I find the base control setting simple, straightforward and easy to use as well. All in all, this product offers a complete, straight forward package solution to get your AM tea time where you might need it most when found without a gas burner/stove.

Sleek electric kettle
Even though I gave 5 stars for all of the features, I believe this is a 4 star product because at times the controls can be buggy. Aside from that, it is an amazing kettle that has finite temperature controls and pours over nicely into tea and coffee. If you are looking for a kettle that pours out quickly, this is not for you. This is for a steady controlled pour. I do like that it keeps the water warm automatically in the kettle though at times I do forget to turn it off.

Attractive addition to the coffee bar
After a few weeks with this kettle, I'd say it's well worth the investment. The sleek modern style looks great on the counter. I use it for pour over or french press, and have enjoyed dialing in my temperature for even better extraction.

Quality
I use it everyday for my aeropress and iit is great. Heats up super fast however it doesn't firmly stay at the temperature I set, it hovers about 3 degrees above or below. I don't heat up a large quantity of water at a time though and am usually just barely above the minimum line so that is likely a factor. Overall the kettle feels great and it is easy to operate!
