Sensor (Junji Ito)

Just not very interesting
I hate to say it, but this is the worst collection of original Ito work I've read - there's just nothing particularly interesting about the story, and it is for the most part laking that Ito magic. It's also very short (six chapters), ending all of a sudden before it really got started.I don't think the great man himself was especially happy with it - the afterword reads like a half-hearted apology!

Smaller but more expensive (should be 3 stars)
I really should give this 3 stars but i just cant cos Junji is such an amazing author , however this book is half the size of Shiver and cost me 2 Pounds more. However this has a high quality shiny embossed cover so i will give them that, its a great addition to my library but should be cheaper

Junji Ito's 'Sensor'
Junji Ito's 'Sensor' formerly known as 'Travelogue of the Succubus' is quite an interesting story because it's nothing like Ito wanted it to be (according to the afterword) and this only becomes clear after you're done reading it and you're trying to piece everything together, i don't actually dislike this book, even if Ito himself is displeased with it, i found it to be really fascinating because even though it isn't "good" there is still nothing else like it and parts of it that are quite enjoyable. There is a good mix of surrealism, body horror and existentialism on display here that should satisfy any Junji Ito fan or j-horror fan in my personal opinion, I've read all of Ito's English translated works so far and certainly this deserves a 3 star or more, it's not his best work, but not bad, the art alone is worth 5 stars in my opinion.Recommended but don't hold any strong expectations in neither direction.
