Dog Gone Smart Pet Products Reflective Meteor Tamarack Dog Jacket, Grey w/Indigo Zipper, 16"

This coat is beyond adorable, and the quality is amazing. I ordered the 16 inch for my Boston/pug mutt, and its perfect. He's a tricky size to fit, because he's slim and long legged, with a deep chest. He's about 18 lbs, and his chest is 20", neck is around 14". The elastic in the bottom portion really makes this more comfortable than other coats we've tried, and it doesn't cut into the skin under his front legs at all. The zipper opens up to fit his harness ring.One note, the "indigo" color is purple. Dark purple. I think of indigo as dark blue, but its fine. I mean the furry collar is already a little girly, but they're dogs so I don't think they care. Also the body of the coat is highly reflective for safety. I will definitely purchase from this brand in the future, the craftsmanship is excellent and the coat is comfortable and warm.

Overall this is a well made dog jacket, which seems to provide quite a bit of insulation against cold days. I also like that it covers more of the belly than most dog coats, which is nice for slush/salt/dirt/etc. as well as some warmth (insulation is not all that thick in the belly part). The reflective material is also truly reflective - it really stands out against any light, and looks good!My only downside is that if you have a dog with a thicker neck or a fluffy mane around their neck, this may not be the best fit for them. The fur collar and neck area is fairly narrow - it seems border line uncomfortable on my dog despite the rest of the jacket being on the larger side. While the fur is cute, it adds somewhat unnecessary constriction to their movement. It took some treats and coaxing to get my dog to tolerate it.

I bought one of these jackets for Eli 6 years ago, he loves it. The one i bought was from a local home owners shop which isnt there anymore. I had to sew put new velcro on 2 years ago and it was just gettimg wore out. Found this one Amazon and we are so happy. Fits perfect, eli loves it. Im gonna try to buy a matching jacket for me!
