Whitney to get on the case. after speaking to whitney Eve gathers all her notes files everything she has on McQueen ~* Eve is telling Roarke about McQueen, telling him how green she was when she caught her first big case. it was like fate' they were working another case she went into the apartment building knocking on doors for witnesses (a mugging Gone Way Wrong) 258 Murray St. she found a witness Said she saw some one running carrying shopping bags*Eve took her name and contact No. she walked out looked down the hall at apt 303 a man carrying shopping bags is un coding his door and questions him asks his name he said Isaac McQueen Eve keeps thinking there's Something Off just off she can't quite put her finger on it. she asks to come in he lets her in, Eve's keeps talking to knowing something is Wrong he hits her they struggle he scores her shoulder with a knife, she fires on him once twice three times he finally goes down. she opened a door in his apartment and found all kinds of naked bruised shackled up young girls . 22 of them they got them out and checked out by mt's they were safe now! and 2 days later she was Lt.Feeney's aide (McQueen) kept his 1st victim in New York in that apartment for 3yrs!* Roarke and Eve are now running checks on the women that McQueen would use for his next partner. they think they may have the one....the next morning Eve Goes to Comm.Whitney and the feds are there, Eve Gives them the low down on McQueen what he does how he does things.Peabody and Eve are working the case they go question and woman known to associate with McQueen (Deb Bracken) she tells Eve and Peabody what she knows about him and of the guard from the prison.Eve is interviewing Stiable to find the woman McQueen wants to partner with him (sister Suzanne Devon) Eve gets a message from whitney they received a message from McQueen he took a former victim he's in Dallas Now.A host of new characters are seamlessly introduced in NY2D. I grew to love them almost as much as I do Eve and Roarke's friends. Two of McQueen's victims, in particular, grabbed my attention - and Eve's - and it's not just their courage which captivated me, but what they show about Eve that makes me hope I'll see them again.There's a reason J.D. Robb's dynamic In Death series is still wildly popular more than forty books and novellas in. The books may be set in the future, but the themes of love, friendship, loss, pain, survival, courage, hope, despair, good and evil are universal. Too, the strengths, flaws and quirks of Eve, Roarke and their friends makes the characters not only loveable, but relatable. She makes them Like Real People and Does it Very Well....I Will Continue to READ the Series As long as Robb Continues to Write them! I already have the Next installment (Celebrity in Death) Released on 2/21/12 on Pre-Order on AmazonI'm a HUGE fan of Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb have been since I Started Reading her Novels in 2009!! I'd give this on 10stars if I Could.We learn more into Eve and Roarke why they are, the way they are, Eve has mellowed some in certain areas she has friends not just co-workers she's more social able she can be harsh sometimes But being a homicide cop you have to be to a point and what happened to her when she was a child comes into play as well. the way she was treated no one loved her showed her any kindness,love,caring compassion So how is she Suppose to know how to show it her self to anyone she's learning that and it's coming out slowly I've noticed the difference from Naked ID to NY2D she's come a long way. and the relationship between her and Roarke has GROWN Stronger! You can See that She LOVES Roarke more than she ever imagined she could ever love anyone and he LOVES her the same way they are SOULMATES!!I have NY2D in HARDCOVER version "Autographed" BY J.D.Robb!The "In Death Series" is Totally Frosty!! I've ENJOYED the WHOLE Series!! there was Some that I Liked More than Other's, But there wasn't Any that I Didn't like at all.

I have read nearly everything Nora Roberts has written. I jumped pretty hard in the the JD Robb stuff as well and then let it lag. Never have I seen her shorten analysis or analyze in anything and there was so many anals in this book it was ridiculous. Did someone miss editing? 😂

I know. I know. I always say that the In Death series by Robb is fabulous and that each book can't get any better...but I was wrong. This is my favorite book in the series by far. Not just because I have grown to love story of Eve and Roarke, and anxiously await all upcoming releases... but because this one did what I thought it was time for JD Robb (AKA Nora Roberts) to do....start healing Eve, finally cementing the fact that she is more than what was done to her in her past. It simply shaped who and what she has become today (circa 2060), stronger for having survived her childhood. In New York to Dallas, Eve confronts her demons in a foreign land (not her native New York, but Dallas where she got her name). Robb is truly at the top of her game and she weaves a heartbreaking tale that threatens to rip Eve apart, with those who love and cherish her as witnesses.The opening of "New York to Dallas" begins with Eve lamenting over dreaded paperwork and wishing for a juicy murder to keep her busy. What she doesn't expect is to get a message from a devious killer from her past, Issac McQueen. Hence a flashback of when Eve was a rookie and while investigating a crime, she stumbled upon one of the most disturbing crimes that shakes her to her very core. The victims that she comes face to face with remind her so much of herself, and the brutality and abuse she experienced at the hands of those who were suppose to protect her.To complicate matters, Eve has to return to Dallas (a place she often returns in her nightmares) and work with various law officials to recapture McQueen, who is now working with a very willing partner. As the plot twists and turns, and the characters identities revealed, you are spellbound!What I enjoyed the most, was not only visiting a time and place where the people are familiar, but seeing the continued evolution of Eve and Roarke into an unbeatable, unbreakable couple. Eve finally appears to find peace or some closure with herself and her past. We finally get to witness Eve solving a case without her normal creature comforts of home (like Feeney, Peabody, McNab, and even Somerset), and all while trying not to lose herself or get killed. It was pure joy. We have the normal working a case until she is exhausted, but we also see Eve evolving into a person who isn't afraid to rely on others, especially the very sexy Roarke who anticipates her needs before she does.I just can't say enough about how much I loved this book. While the subject matter was somewhat dark, there was also a great departure from the usual installments in the Death series. Not only was this one of the only times that the title did not include "In Death", but Eve was kicking crime butt far away from home. I can't wait for the next one.

I've waited for years for answers about Eve's mum. This book finally provides those answers. Eve's heart breaking past is ripped open, and brought front and centre in this moving "In Death" book. A must read in the Eve and Roarke series.

イブが過去に捕まえた犯人が、脱獄して人質を取りイブの過去を知った上でダラスへ逃亡します。罠だと知りつつも、人質を助けるために彼を追うイブとロークですが、事態は思わぬ方向へ…。中盤から「あれ…もしかして…？」と思わせる箇所がぽつぽつと出てきて、後半はもう怒濤の展開に「え、やっぱりそうなの？？！！」と驚いたり悲しんだり大変でした。特に後半は、イブの心情を考えると涙が止まらないです。そのイブを支えるロークも今回はだいぶ参っていて、彼の心情を考えても涙が…。唯一in deathがタイトルに入っていないところからも、シリーズのターニングポイントになるお話だと思います。

New York to Dallas foi o livro mais aguardado por mim depois de muitos spoilers no site da Nora, e confesso que me chocou. Eu esperava que o livro fosse bom e que pelo nome algo relacionado ao passado de Eve iria ser revelado e... Sem palavras ! Esse é aquele livro que voce lê e não consegue largar de jeito nenhum.

I could not devour this book in the one sitting as I usually do. The story was quite upsetting in some ways but it was good to get some more background information on Dallas' early career and finally about her mother. I feel so involved with the regular cast of characters, almost as if they're real and I was glad that Eve is finally getting some closure from her family nightmares.
