Pamela's Products Amazing Gluten-free Bread Mix, 4-Pound Bag

My grandson has to have gluten free products. I have tried other gluten free bread recipes in my bread machine but, the taste and texture were lacking. Using this mix I can make an easy, fast, and tasty bread for him. Many people have told me it tastes too good to be gluten free.

I like what I see; have not had an opportunity to use it, due surgery and nursing home stay.

This is the best gluten free bread mix I have tasted. There are really wonderful gluten free flours out there but this is a bread mix and is easy to make. We use it for our communion bread at church. Everyone loves it. Good texture, good taste and aroma. You should try it if you need gluten free bread.

I feel like I've tried every single brand of GF bread in the local grocery stores. This is better than them all. First of all, there's nothing quite like smelling fresh bread as it's baking and then getting to eat a still-warm slice! Next, the slices are "normal" sized. When you bake your own bread (I use a bread machine) you are not using slices barely bigger than 3x3" like most GF bread comes in, you get normal-sized/shaped slices. Third, the taste and texture are great! I've been buying this mix for over a year and love it. The cost per loaf comes out to be approximately the same as the better grocery store brands.

My fault that I didn't do my research before buying this bread mix. Although the mix is good for being gluten free, the price is absolutely ridiculous. After buying the 4lb bag for $29.95, I accidentally stumbled across this at my local grocery store (Raley's) for $19.95. Same size bag (4lb). Raley's is considered a more expensive grocery store in California too. So, don't assume Amazon isn't gouging us to death. Disgusting.Now on to the bread. I bought this specifically to use in my Breadman Bread Machine. It's an older model that does not have a GF setting. I used the recipe on the back of the bag and it came out surprisingly good. I chose the 2lb, white bread, medium crust setting. It took about 2.5hrs from start to finish. It smelled really good while baking. It rose really nice too. We tried it with some butter and homemade strawberry jam and it was really good. No, it's not gluten filled deliciousness from a French bakery, let's get that straight, however as someone who has to eat GF bread due to celiac, it is perfectly fine for toast, sandwiches, french toast, etc. The bread has a slight sweetness to it, probably due to the mix of GF flours in the ingredients. But, it's not overwhelming. Overall, I'd recommend this brand, but check your local grocery store first, as the price on Amazon is ridiculous.

This gluten-free flour may seem expensive, but I assure you, it's worth it. It comes with xantham gum in it and all you have to add to the dry mix is a packet a yeast and the other items listed! (Eggs, water etc.) Cooks best in a bread machine on the gluten-free setting. Be sure to have a bread cloth to cover your bread to keep it fresh for 3-4 days. Makes three - 2 lbs. pound loaves.

Never buy store bought, small expensive gluten free loaves of bread again! This is so easy, and delicious (you must have a bread maker). When I take it out, I brush butter substitute on it, slice when cool, freeze the slices and 30 sec in the microwave make it perfect, soft, delicious and long lasting.
