International Caravan Bali 42-inch Modern Wicker/Rattan Brown Rattan Papasan Chair Replacement Frame

I bought this as a replacement for my original Papasan chair base. My original was the lighter rattan colored the base got wet & cracked in storage. So I need a new base for my cushion. An Amazon is the only one who sells the base. Pier 1 discontinued this model I tried to look at Wayfair and overstock and they both said they didn’t have it and I have to buy a whole new chair. Amazon is the way to go. I still love it!!!!

Favorite relaxing chair.

Two major issues with this papasan. Allergenicity After it had been in the house for a while I realized it was making me and my husband sneeze. Don't know if it's the wood or varnish/paint they used to coat it, but the morning after it had arrived I had asthma. Initially I didn't Make the connection. After my husband returned from a work trip, he noted that the house smelled very strange and over the weeknd and while he was assembling the product his allergies became worse. Instability We weren't aware of the instability until after product assembly. Unfortunately once you've assembled, no return. All items were accounted for and in the box. During assembly, we realized there was a screw blocking one of the holes to bolt the chair bowl together, but we continued to assemble the product. After assembly, I tried it out and fell out. Fortunately, my husband caught me before falling to the floor. There were three other bolts to secure the bowl on that one section so we don't attribute it to that one bolt we missed. My husband then tried it out himself to see if it was a size and weight issue, and it was also very unstable for him. I am short 5 ft 1 in and 108 lbs whereas my husband is tall 6 ft 2 in and is around 290 lbs. It held us, but for some reason the bowl does not properly seat into the base. You'll need to secure it with some fastener of your own invention. We ended up getting a couple of papasans from World Market and the papasan base and bowl are stable. I will state that these papasons aren't built to last. So I recommend purchasing one in store after you inspect it to ensure nothing is broken prior to purchase. The thing is Word Market offers full refund within the time frame; whereas the seller of this product, Bison Office, does not. Return process does not guarantee a full refund and you must pay for shipping. Also, a full refund is not issued for products that have already been assembled, which in the case of instability of an assembled product makes no sense to me. They state all of this prior to purchase and note, they do not make exceptions. They did offer to replace the damaged parts, but this definitely overlooks the issues my husband and I are having with this product.

The chair comes in 4 pieces with some basic assembly required. Paired with a nice pillow, this chair is very comfortable in many different positions. My only critique is that the cross sectional supports don't line up perfectly, leaving three gaps throughout the structure. Besides that it is a perfect chair to share with someone else while watching a movie.

Fell many times getting in and out

Love this chair! It is adjustable for short and tall people to sit comfortably with their feet touching the ground. It always has someone sitting in it, we need to order a couple more for our game room too.

This is very sturdy not flimsy

Buyer Beware. I ordered the dark walnut brown Papasan chair frame as shown in the photo and as described by this seller. It was supposed to be no assembly required as they have always been in the past and at the time of purchase, the seller mislead by neglecting to state assembly is required. Not cool. It is supposed to be one solid piece for the cushion. I received an ugly orang-ish stain color in several pieces requiring assembly. This is not even close what I ordered and paid for. I did not even unpack it, but it is your basic Papasan chair. EXCEPT it is in several pieces as opposed to two solid pieces. I would not want or use an assembled version where the top cushion section is in several pie-shaped pieces held together with a bunch of screws. Not a true Papasan chair that I have always known and loved. I put in for a return and the seller had the nerve to say I had to pay for return shipping. I reviewed and reported this seller and contacted Amazon about it. As a disabled customer, this is really frustrating to receive a large chair frame that is not as expected and it is not Amazon's fault at all. Amazon was helpful and I hope the issue will be resolved. I would not recommend this item unless you want the orange color stain and don't mind assembling it and having many screws holding it together. *I only write negative reviews when I feel an item is not as described and/or is broken, and/or I feel I was purposely scammed. This is one such time.
