Great bike!
I bought two of these: The 16 inch pink bike for my daughter who will be turning 5 next week. I did not take her measurements, but she is a size 5/6 in tops and pants right now for size comparison. The bike is great with the training wheels, but it is too big for her to handle without them yet. If I had known what I know now, I would have bought her one size down to start off with. For now, she can ride this with the training wheels to get used to it and we will just keep her much smaller bike until she has made a full transition. The 18 inch blue bike for my 7 1/2 year old Son - Again, no measurements, but he is a size 7/8 for size comparison. This bike just fits with room to grow. Last fall, it would have been a bit too big for him. Sizing aside, here are my thoughts: This is a great bike! It is nice and sturdy and I love the look. (especially the fact that the pink is still girly looking but has BLACK tires, not the dang white tires that most little girls bikes have) We live on a farm, so no sidewalks. Just dirt, gravel and grass to ride on. These bikes ride just fine on the rough terrain. My kids love that the bikes came with a water bottle. The 16" bike has a firmer white seat with what sort of looks like a hand grip in the back. The 18" bike has a slightly cushier black seat - like a normal bike seat. Neither of the kids have mentioned that they especially love or dislike their seats. Both bikes have brake, which is nice - although my daughter is still getting used to using it - it's a little big for her tiny hands. I would recommend getting the hang of that before going down any hills And last - the assembly was pretty easy - They came mostly assembled already. It took about 15 minutes per bike (Putzing speed) to get everything ready to go. One bike came with the tires ready to go and one bike needed to have the tires inflated before riding. Overall, these have been great bikes so far and I am very pleased with the purchase!

All the reasons we love this bike
This is a great bike at a reasonable price. My son is 4 years old, 42 inches (106cm) tall, with a 16 inch (41cm) inseam and we bought the 14 inch bike for him--which turned out to be the perfect size. Thank goodness we didn't go larger, as we debated doing. It's hard to find 14" bikes in stores to try on for size, so I hope that helps. He loves his new bike! He went from a Strider balance bike to this one, so we didn't use the training wheels, but here are my thoughts on the rest of it: 1. Thick tires add stability. I'm sure the kids have to pedal more/harder, because of the added friction, but it's a great feature for kids learning to ride a bike without training wheels. We've gotten several comments from strangers about how amazed they were he was riding a two-wheeler and how much easier this bike looked due to the thick tires. (Some of his ability we owe to the strider balance bike, of course; it took him about 10 minutes to figure out how pedals worked, but other than that, he took off on this bike pretty readily. However, I think the thick tires definitely helped with the transition and continue to help him as a new rider.) Since his dad mountain bikes, my son loves going on the kiddie-level dirt trails "like my dad" and the tires on this bike are especially great for that kind of terrain. 2. Sleek design. It really is an attractive bike and yes, kids care that their bike likes "cool." (We got the white bike.) 3. Nice wide seat with a rim on the back. Comfortable, easy for kids to sit on and feel balanced and secure. This is something else I've heard comments about. ("What I wonderful wide seat!") 4. Two sets of brakes--there is a hand brake on the handlebars, and the pedal brakes as well. I mostly see my son (4yo) use the pedals, but he says he uses both. If nothing else, I think he likes that it looks like his dad's bike. It's nice to have both options. 5. I really like the the chain is enclosed with a plastic guard so he doesn't get caught in it or manage to pull it off. His pants don't get dirty and curious fingers don't get pinched. A neighbor kid always seems to have his (exposed) chain fall off and, so far, this hasn't been an issue at all with this bike. 6. The seat goes so low. Another bike I looked at did not adjust as low, despite being the same size bike. That was a MUST for him at this stage, since it would have been too tall for him when he was just learning to ride and needed to be able to reach the ground. Of course, the seat raises, too. 7. The bell broke in about a week's time. I don't know if it's because the attaching ring is just plastic, or if my son was too rough with it. That's disappointing, but doesn't affect the integrity of the bike itself, so...oh well. I worried that the water bottle holder, which is also plastic, would break with all the use; but so far it's held up great. Speaking of, the water bottle is a nice extra. Its not a make-or-break, but my son LOVES that he has his own real water bottle. He feels like he has a "real mountain bike" like his dad. Other than the bell breaking, I would be hard-pressed to find any complaint about this bike. We can hardly get my son off his bike. He'd sleep in his helmet if we'd let him, just so he'd be ready to ride at any given moment. If you're looking for a set of bike lights for safety, I really recommend these: The Friendly Swede Silicone 7 LED Bike Light Set, White and Red . They're great lights, inexpensive, very bright, easy to attach or remove, have several light pattern settings, and they fit nicely.

GREAT Bike but needs a little something
These are GREAT bikes, hands down one of my best Amazon buys. That being said, there's assembly issues you need to know. On the positive side (which imo far outweighs the negative) these are just well made bikes. We bought one each for our 5yo twins. The bikes were on the brink of being too big, but I figured worse case scenario, we'd garage them for a few months. No need. Having only trike experience prior, both my kids got on and went. They're super sturdy, with minimal wobbles on a good surface and definitely inspire confidence. They look sharp, and really are just perfect for the beginner rider. My kids also think the water bottle is the coolest thing since toast, so I'd recommend leaving that at home unless you're in for a "water break" every 2-3 minutes. The downer, which I read about in previous reviews as well, is that things that need to be tight, need to be TIGHT on assembly, and then some. When we put our two together (easy assembly, took 5 min tops), my husband did one and I did the other. While I'm generally pretty handy, we found that the one I put together kept losing a peddle. Like it would spin off mid ride. Husband hulk-style tightened it, issue resolved. The handlebars did the same, and still need some adjusting occasionally. The worst is that the training wheels WILL loosen up. It's just going to happen. We had one kid blow out down the bike path at 100 ft/hr (he was really ripping for a Pre-K kid), only to turn it into a full out bronc ride when left his training wheel in the dust, got the speed wobbles, then finally ate dirt when his bike dropped it's shoulder and ducked right. I was a proud cowboy mom, he was a sad, bloodied biker kid. Had to carry him home. So my word of advice for those of you who either don't like to see their kids upset or just don't like to carry around dead crying weight, is to invest in a spool of thread seal tape, wrap up your peddles and training wheel threads, and tighten them until you or it almost breaks. Happy riding.

Good bike. Bad tire.
Was happy to get my son a bike but one of the tires was slashed or ripped. Not sure how but it sucks that I have to find another tire. Nice bike still.

Quality bike, phenomenal customer service. Completely blown away by the kindness
It was time to ditch the beloved 3 in one push handle tricycle & upgrade my girl to a big girl bike for her 4th birthday: I went to Walmart & purchased a bike. And within a week we were replacing tire tubes, chains, poor quality training wheels, and crying lots of mom guilt tears before I ran to my Amazon app begging for forgiveness for choosing Walmart . I scrolled through hundreds of bikes, thousands of reviews, & researched enough to feel confident that royal baby was going to be great. It arrived two days later in a well packaged box & I was so pleased that it was already 95% assembled. Iโm a single mom who was raised in a home where my dad did all assembly and I never learned. So its just me and YouTube doing the job & Yโall Iโm not even gonna lie I canโt assemble shit without loosing hours of my life, kids loosing patience and me loosing all of my sanity. By the time weโre done itโs just not even fun anymore. Royal babyโs bike gave me a frustration free experience & within ten minutes I had the bike together, all of my sanity & a positive mood to watch my baby ride! I had zero complaints about the bicycle. The quality was visible, the bike is solid and itโs heavy weight didnโt restrict her being able to peddle like other reviews stated. 6 months later the bike experienced a minor issue with the handle on the seat & I emailed Royal baby requesting the replacement parts. In under thirty minutes and one single email my requests were more then resolved. They responded so apologetically, without hassle or questioning and zero hesitation they offered to replace the bike with a new bike of the same model or to choose a different model of my choice from their website free of charge. It arrived two days later and my girl happily is riding every day. I am so pleased with this whole experience that I tell the moms in Walmart bike isle to just go to Royal baby and save the hassle. If youโre on the fence just give it a chance youโll be so pleased!

Bought for an (almost) 3 year old
I bought this bicycle for my almost 3 year old. Assembly really didn't take too long (under 30 mins max including unboxing) as I am familiar with putting together bicycles. It comes with everything you need except you will need an additional crescent wrench or a socket to adjust the training wheels (you need one to hold it into place while you tighten or loosen the bolt for training wheels) The bicycle itself feels sturdy and it rides really smooth, I have to jog to keep up with my kid on it. It comes with the cup, drink mount, and bell. (I wasn't sure if the bottle was included originally, but you dont need to order one anyway) Only thing to note, if this is for a novice bicycle rider, dont put the training wheels to the lowest setting, it lifts the back tire off of the ground and it wont move. Save yourself a few minutes and put it 1 notch up (or more) depending on the childs skill level. Also, my kid is big for his age, and I honestly dont see him using this beyond the age of 5. Its pretty small, so beware if you are getting it for a kid between 5 and 12 years old, I would probably look elsewhere. Overall the bicycle fits the needs for now, but within 2 years his legs will be too long to be able to make use of it, so the price point is great for an interim bicycle.
