Anxiety and Sleep Help
I have read a lot of information regarding the benefits of magnesium supplements on anxiety and insomnia, including reading the book, "The Magnesium Miracle". Skeptical, magnesium struck me as an overly simplistic answer, but I had reached the end of the line with what conventional medicines and therapies had to offer. I had tried Zoloft for anxiety, but that made my sleep issues much worse, and caused a terrible disconnected feeling, ramping anxiety even further. Xanax worked great, but was in no way a long-term solution. With little to lose I decided to give magnesium a try. I first tried Nature Made Magnesium 400 mg Softgels. They caused serious diarrhea and stomach pain. Strike one. I then tried Nature's Bounty with the same results. Strike two. Both are magnesium oxide, a fancy term for laxative as it turns out. I then tried Country Life Chelated Magnesium Caps 300 mg - same results, just not as bad. Strike three. This forced me back to research magnesium further to see if there was an answer. I found several recommendations for Solaray Magnesium Glycinate. Finally, no running to the bathroom and stomach pains. Magnesium is definitely more subtle than any prescription anti-anxiety drug, but it, along with the Amino Acid L-Theanine (by Thorne Research) is working very well for me. Both are calming, and I feel much less edgy, anxious and uneasy during the day. I'm sleeping much better - which helps reduce anxiety by itself. Together, they have made a huge difference in better overall sleep and calmness during the day. Unlike some other reviewers, I actually prefer the 100 mg capsules. This allows me to dose how I want in increments of 100 mg without being stuck with one large 400 mg dose. The magnesium and Theanine are enough to restore a much more normal life for the first time in a long time. I currently take 400 mg of magnesium per day split between morning and night, but did step it up slowly - I'm sensitive to supplements and meds, so just went with the low and slow approach. I take 200-400 mg of Theanine โ split between morning and night. I would highly recommend Solaray Magnesium Glycinate, especially for those with sensitive stomachs or IBS, in combination with the amino acid Theanine for anxiety and sleep related issues.

Great magnesium supplement.
This is a replacement bottle, so that speaks for itself (to me) in a review. This is a great natural product to have around the house for times when you need a bit of regularity because you haven't had enough fiber in your diet. Actually, my adult son (who lives with us during his college career) as well as my teenage daughter take one capsule daily and it seems to keep them both in good order. There are several different types of Magnesium products on the market. I choose the Magnesium Glycinate because of has the best absorption rate so that the minerals are more able to be used by your body. Its great for brain function, as well. There is a lot on the internet about it, so I'd recommend reading up on the different types and choose one that is best for your needs. Overall, this is a great product. We've been very pleased with it.

Helped my heart arrhythmia, gentle on my stomach!
I began having irregular heart beats a few months ago, and they slowly progressed to an almost constant occurrence (bigeminy, trigeminy beats). I went to a Cardiologist, had the holter monitor (which did pick up the beats), but was ultimately told it was benign, and to 'learn to live with them'. They attributed them to stress, but did not do any testing of mineral deficiencies to determine if they were being caused by an electrolyte or other nutritional imbalance. I did a great deal of research on finding a cure for this situation (it is very hard to try to learn to live with something heart-related, it's very scary). I tried increasing my potassium, which only helped a little, and had not considered magnesium as the problem. I read countless info on how magnesium deficiencies can cause irregular heart beats, and then searched for the best form to take. I tried Mag-Citrate, but it tore my stomach lining up (I have a sensitive stomach from having ulcers last year, so I have to be very careful about taking things that irritate it). I also tried a very expensive brand of Mag Taurate, but did not like it much, and had not noticed a change in my situation entirely. I read the Mag Glycinate was one of the best absorbed and most gentle magnesiums to take. Originally I tried caplets, and they also hurt my stomach lining tremendously. I found that capsules work best for me (I can open them and take a smaller amount that will not irritate my stomach). This brand is the best magnesium brand I've tried. Solaray has been a very reliable brand with other supplements, so I gave them a try for my magnesium, and I'm glad I did. I did find I cannot take the capsules whole because about 30 mins later it is a little hard for my sensitive stomach to handle (not terrible, but not great either), but when I open a capsule and take half with food, I have no problems. It also has fixed the heart problem. If I get an irregular beat now, it is rare, and not an ongoing problem the way it was. It took about 1-2 weeks supplementing with this to fully correct the problem (it has also corrected my muscle twitches, which was another sign of mag-deficiency), and I am going to continue using these exclusively. I know others did not like the fact that the capsules are only 100 mg each, but this is the best thing for me to keep from irritating my stomach lining (plus taking it in smaller increments keeps your body from wasting it, your body will only use what it needs and gets rid of the rest, so taking less at a time is more advisable, and mimics how we are actually supposed to be eating it in our diets).

We Are All Deficient!
Magnesium is another mineral we are all deficient in to some extent. I believe to a very large extent. Ever notice how many people suffer from migraines? How about restless legs? Muscle cramping? That's all magnesium deficiency. It even plays a role in some seizure disorders. How do I know? Because I am one of them! I have suffered from chronic migraines for 14 years, to such an extent that out of every month I would have 1-2 days with no migraine, and then it would all start over again. For 14 years. Migraines rob you of your life, and they are serious. It has taken me 3 years - far, far longer than all the experts claim it should - to fix this issue, and I am not finished yet. I take 400mg 4x/day. When I am stressed, I need more, and when I fell down the stairs last July I had to triple my dose to keep both muscle cramps and migraines at bay. It worked, but I had to stay near the bathroom due to magnesium's laxative effect. The experts claim that once the laxative effect is reached, it is no longer absorbed. This has not been my experience, it is still absorbed, it still works; it is, however, annoying. This form is more readily absorbed than most other forms, and it is less expensive. It also has less of a laxative effect than most, if not all, other forms. By the way, magnesium aspartate is an excitotoxin - it kills brain neurons - don't use that form for migraine issues! I won't go near it... Results: my migraines are down to 1 every 6 weeks or so, and they only last 1-12 hours rather than days or weeks. Friends, take your magnesium! Prevent magnesium deficiency if you don't have the signs of it, and save your own health and your life. ~ Molly Malone

Good pills, but feel stuck in your throat...
These pills seem to have effective magnesium in them, I notice that they help my sleep when I take them, the only reason for four instead of 5 stars is when I'm trying to swallow the pills, they seem to or feel like they get stuck going down. I've tried many different ways, but I pretty much have to eat something after taking them to make sure they go down well. Other than that, they seem to work well for me as far as noticeable help, mostly for my sleeping and my muscle twitches and cramps. Thanks!

Nice to sleep and think
I've struggled with magnesium for years. I knew I was deficient in it, but every time I took it, I became extremely tired the next day (not to mention, I would be nauseated for about three days.) I originally started taking it because I have tremors, and I didn't find trying to soothe the tremors worth the stomach pain. However, I started to show really bad signs of deficiency, and decided to put more effort into finding magnesium that works for me. After a lot of research, I learned that magnesium glycinate does the trick for people with sensitive stomachs. Hence my search and discovery of this. I really like that I can manage my dosage. The first night I tried it, I took three pills. That was too much. Whereas I did not get any stomach issues, I was extremely tired the next day. So, I went with one pill. That was a lot better. Over the last four weeks, I have slowly gotten my dosage up to 300 mg a night. I am feeling so much better. I don't know why there are complaints about having to take 4 pills to get 400 mg. It is actually very convenient for a person such as myself. It is also a pretty good bargain, contrary to the dosage complaints. I highly recommend this to people who are sensitive to magnesium, especially those who have stomach issues.

Highly effective and recommended!
This form of Magnesium is a highly absorbable form and Utilized by the body for many hundreds of different functions! I used them For digestion, sleep and stress mainly. Therapeutic doses for High blood pressure during pregnancy works for me. Glycinate will not likely give you diarrhea like oxide or citrate will. These types have their uses, but are not as absorbable by the body and are commonly flushed. Iโve taken this brand for years! I generally take 4 in the evening. For pregnancy, 4 in the morning as well starting around the second trimester!

Do you suffer from anxiety? Can't sleep well? Aching tight muscles? Have trouble with bowel movements? Trust me, multiple peer reviewed clinical studies have been conducted and Magnesium Glycinate is the answer a good solution to all the above. Take 1 to 2 pills two hours before bedtime for a better nights sleep. Within 2-3 days your anxiety will begin to decrease and so will your moody outbursts. Within 4-5 days you'll notice a reduction in your moody outbursts. Take 4 pills two hours before bedtime and the next day it will clean your intestines out. At 4 pills it puts more water in your intestines and helps motility. Don't believe me read the studies and try it for yourself! Best to cycle it or take as needed.

Excellent
This is really excellent. I am taking 3 / day and the effect is strong and clear in barely 20 mins from taking it, it has relieved me a lot of pressure and anxiety, and i feel really much, much better since i started supplementing with it. Night and day!
