Love this container. Bought it for my son for pre-k. It's a little big and bulky for him. Probably should have bought the smaller one but it is still excellent quality and will use it more as he gets older. Of note, 4.5 cannot open it but himself, needs adult help.

If you like to pack your own meals but don't like packing ice, or if you enjoy hot homemade soup or stew at lunch, this is an effective thermos in a one-serving size. I have purchased one in 12 oz (1 1/2c) and one in 8 oz (1 c). These seem to be good sizes for salads, stew, chili, etc. I put the food in the thermos and put the open thermos and lid in the fridge overnight. Then I have both a cold container and a cold lunch. For hot meals, I pour boiling water in the thermos for a few minutes before packing hot food. This thermos is probably more effective at keeping cold items cold than hot items hot. After 5 hours, piping hot soup is still hot but not too hot to eat, perhaps a little less hot than I like. But heat is not maintained easily in solids. Liquids and sauces will keep the food hotter. Mac n cheese will probably get too cold. Soup placed in this thermos--GENUINE Thermos BRAND Vacuum Insulated Stainless Steel Beverage Bottle, 710 ml which I bought at WalMart but is probably available almost anywhere, is too hot to eat right away and needs to cool for a few minutes. It is a better thermos in terms of heating, but it is twice the size. It also cannot be used as a serving container. It is more difficult to fill because of its narrower top. The Lunch Bots are convenient because the wide mouth makes filling easy and the container is easy to eat from. Soups, salad, chili, stew, no more boring repetitive lunches. So for one person, I would select the Lunch Bot. It's an all-in-one solution to hot and cold meals away from home.

We ordered three of these. Two are fine, one gets hot on the outside. Seems to keep food a little less warm too than the other two.

I bought this thermos for my grandson who is in the sixth grade. He enjoys having a hot/warm lunch at school and this thermos is perfect. It is easy to open by using the pressure button on the lid. Cleaning is easy, too.

This thermos jar works as advertised. Our family owns several different brand wide-mouth thermos jars. This one keeps the food warm the longest.

Packed hot food in the morning, but unfortunately when I open container at lunch time food was cold, not good for us.

Je l'ai seulement utilisé pour garder des aliments chauds et après 4 heures, les aliments sont juste tièdes. Aussi, c'est vraiment super difficile de l'ouvrir car on doit peser sur le bouton au centre en même temps qu'on dévisse le couvercle car il y a une succion. I only used it to keep meals hot and after 4 hours it's only lukewarm. It's also super hard to open because you have to press the button in the center at the same time that you unscrew the lid because there is a suction.
