Meh...
This "survival cord" or "goose gridding" is a strong, somewhat stiff, easy working twine and is great for guy lines and tie downs, but be careful as the dye does leach a little so using in in contact with fabric will leave some blue stains. The cord works well with tautline hitches for use as a guy line. One downside is that you can't readily melt this line to stop the ends from fraying, a bit of tape or a dab of "shoe goo" can help there.I purchased this believing it to be something different. There is nothing wrong with the product at all, but the markup is a bit extreme. Side by side, this appears identical to kevlar 49 UV coated "goose gridding" available for $7.80 per 250ft spool (or 1 pound/2600ft for $81.06). The published specifications, strength, color, UV coating, etc., also appear to be identical. With a quick search you'll find a much better deal. The UV resistant coating does answer a major flaw of kevlar for outdoor use, although unprotected, bonded, Tex-500(size), Kevlar thread (150lb tensile strength) lasts a long time with occasional outdoor use. The UV coating is more helpful for things like goose gridding that are left under the sun for extended periods. If you prefer a softer twine, 225lb tensile strength soft (unbonded) Tex-800 kevlar thread is also easy to find with a quick search.A word of caution, continuous filament (multiple continuous filaments twisted together) kevlar thread is much stronger than spun kevlar thread that consists of many short fibers spun together. Spun kevlar is not much stronger than typical sewing thread, but is is fire resistant like the filament thread. Spun kevlar can be dyed, filament kevlar is usually not dyed to avoid weakening the polymer. It can be coated, but it's not uncommon for the coating to bleed somewhat.

Strong but compact.
Strong cordage that is more compact for my EDC, and I can reserve the 550 paracord for my truck and pack.

Husband Requested
Very strong thread, but almost impossible to cut cleanly with scissors. Hubby wanted me to use this to remake a necklace for him that won't stretch out. Oh-it won't stretch-that's for sure-but a real pain to use for beading because the ends kept fraying. I'm sure that I'm the only lunatic out there beading with Kevlar thread-lol!

Another waste and it's Amazon's fault.
Again Amazons confusing mess of a website screwed me again. I honestly don't really ever know exactly what I'm buying, or who it's coming from. The pictures and details are never relevant. I was ordering the 25 foot which worked perfect for my application, and was actually what is shown in the picture, but since buying 100 feet is a much better deal, I did that. Well now I have a completely different type of string that does NOT work for my application.

Blue coating stains, tangles easily
I bought a 100' length of the blue and regretted it. It came as a coil zip tied like a bow. The zip tie was very tight and I worried about cutting the cord trying to get it off. The blue coating was also discolored under the ziptie. The coating makes the cord very sticky which made it tangle very easily. It took me probably an hour to untangle it and get it wrapped around a spool and I ended up with blue dye all over my hands. Would not buy again.

Good cord
I haven't tested it's strength fully, but it seems very strong. I'm not a fan of twisted cord, but it was cheaper that the braided kind. For my needs I'd pay the extra for the braided kind. If you need something very thin and strong this is your string.

Thin but durable
This will not break easy. I used it to pull tools up to the roof for work. It's small and can fit in your pocket. And easy to break off if you forget your tools and need to toss it down to get more

I believe that kevlar cordage is superior to all other products on the market today
Ive paid a lot more for a lot less of this product. I am using this as leader line and for survival situations. I believe that kevlar cordage is superior to all other products on the market today. I found the best way to cut this to the length you want is to use a torch style lighter.
