Updated: get the unflavored!
UPDATE: their customer service reached out to me, they offered a refund AND a complimentary bag of the unflavored powder! I accepted and am really satisfied with it, it truly has no flavor or aftertaste!! I’ve been using it in all sorts of foods, smoothies, and even hot beverages. You do need to blend it for the texture to be right, just putting in a shaker bottle does not fully dissolve it, which is not an issue for me since I’m always adding fats and fiber to my protein for better absorption. Highly recommend the unflavored version, will buy it again! ORIGINAL: I was REALLY hoping this was going to be THE protein powder I would finally be loyal to. Unfortunately, the vanilla flavor is unbearably sweet. It does mix very well, doesn’t have any weird after taste, and has a great protein amount. Wondering if I should try the unflavored, but with no satisfaction guarantee or returns it feels like too much risk.

Be Well customer service is amazing!
FINAL UPDATE: Okay Be Well has made me a customer for life. The fact that they were willing to send me a new product to try for free sold me on their customer service, but the Unflavored protein powder (my replacement) is incredible. I used it in overnight oats and would have NO idea that there’s protein powder in it. If you’re sensitive to sweetness I would not recommend the Vanilla, but the Unflavored is amazing! UPDATE: So I just want to update my review to 5 stars because I think the customer service of this company is top notch. Within 24 hours of my review posting the company reached out to me and offered me a refund and a complementary replacement flavor. I decided to try the unflavored and will update if necessary. But honestly 10/10 on customer service. It’s rare a company goes so far above and beyond to insure their customers are satisfied with a product. ORIGINAL: So I’ve been trying this protein powder for a few months now and at first I thought this is just how protein powder is supposed to taste, but after looking at reviews again I think it’s just not for me. I’m guessing it’s the monk fruit extract? It’s unbearably sweet, and if I’m using it for anything other than smoothies I can’t stomach the taste. I love the simple ingredients, but I cannot stand the taste. It doesn’t taste like vanilla, it tastes like sweet chalk.

way too sweet, beefy aftertaste
Unfortunately, this was the WORST tasting protein powder I have ever had. I appreciate the clean ingredients but it is ridiculously too sweet. I get that it's monk fruit sweetener but the level of sweetness does not correlate to a health product. It also has a very strong beefy aftertaste, almost like bone broth, and combined with the sweetness - it's just unpleasant. Tried to mask it with berries in a smoothie but I couldn't get past it. I wish it was unsweetened, then I could at least use it in soup or like a bone broth base. Very clumpy too.

Good, Clean, Sweet
I wanted to try this protein when I was pregnant because of its clean ingredients. I’ve mixed it with yogurt, milk, water and it’s got a good consistency when blended…not great stirred and I don’t know about a shaker cup. It does leave me full and I feel safe using it while pregnant and have continued using it after. It is really sweet so I don’t like to mix fruit in with it but that’s my opinion.

Honest review
This protein is decent Good ingredients Awful blend ability so it is chalky The taste is 8/10 No stomach issues Price for the protein is pretty normal for a the good quality protein No fillers no gums no stevia or artificial flavors so don’t expect some great tasting easy to mix protein. Just suck it up and drink it.

New favorite!
Thoroughly enjoy this protein powder! It’s so hard to come by a clean protein that actually tastes good. I add it to my coffee every morning now! It dissolves easily & the protein quality is great. It does stick the to scoop a little which makes it a little messy to use but the size & quality of the bag is definitely worth the money.

Great taste, super clean
First impression review - pretty damn good! I've been using a plant based protein (pea) for many many years now. At the time I started using pea protein there weren't really a lot of clean beef protein options out there and really - it just wasn't an option I thought existed. I've since learned some things and I know that pea protein can be hard to digest for some people and I was getting really tired of the taste of mine so wanted to make the switch. Finding a clean protein powder is really hard. I was specifically looking for grass fed, no stevia, no natural flavors - and hopefully tasting good. I find artificial sweeteners pretty intolerable in protein powders because most just taste SO fake and give the smoothie an overly sweet flavor. I want my smoothie to taste like fruit and food - not fake sugar. The flavor of this one is great - the sweetness is really mild and doesn't overpower the drink at all. As far as the texture - I think it's important to note how exactly you want to use this powder. A lot of people expect to use protein powders in a shaker cup or even with a little drink mixer/frother thing but I think those methods work best for powders that have been formulated for that and have ingredients to make it smooth and super fine. I suspect maybe some people who had clumping are using those methods. With a powder as clean as this one - you can probably expect a different outcome. I make smoothies in a nutribullet with other ingredients like almond milk, fruit, chia seeds, etc and the texture turned out fine - just a little thicker than my usual pea protein so I think I will have to adjust the liquid content. I'm super happy with the flavor and I love that this is such a clean product.

Maybe the grossest thing I’ve ever eaten
It doesn’t mix with water? So you end up with chunks like wet peanut butter floating in gelatinous soup. The “vanilla” flavor kind of reminds me of chocolate, but with broth up front. The aftertaste is metallic. 5 minutes after I opened it, I wish I could have my money back. Is this product a prank? How could someone sell this to innocent people? It’s inhumane. UPDATE: I just learned from this company that this is not AT ALL a “beef” protein product. It’s just collagen / bone broth protein, so this is false advertising and you are probably entitled to a refund if it was sold to you as “beef”. Here is their response to my question about the source: “This protein powder is not derived from dehydrated meat that is then ground into a fine powder. Our unique grass-fed beef protein isolate is derived from the extracted protein and amino acids from the fleshy bones, tendons, and joints of hormone- and antibiotic-free animals. As such, much of the naturally-occurring collagen inherent in these parts of the animal makes up a significant portion of the final finished powder. “Please find the typical amino acid profile below: “Typical Amino Acid Profile (Per Serving): Alanine 2.1g Arginine 1.8g Aspartic Acid 1.4g Cystine <0.1 Glutamic Acid 2.6g Glycine 4.8g Histidine 2.6g Hydroxyproline 2.5g Isoleucine 0.4g Leucine 0.9g Lysine 0.9g Methionine 0.2g Phenylalanine 0.6g Proline 2.9g Serine 0.8g Threonine 0.5g Tryptophan 0.1g Tyrosine 0.3g Valine 0.7g
