Essentials Overnight Peel – Vegan, Gluten-Free Nourishing Facial Exfoliant with Alpha Hydroxy Acid and Lactic Acid, 2 fl oz

As I approached 30 my skin started having issues and after consulting a few specialists I realized that I needed to start treating my skin differently. The largest part of that was adequate exfoliation and using a very gentle cleanser. I cleared up my normal to oily, sensitive, acne prone maturing skin to pretty much a flawless balanced complexion using this Overnight Peel and few other products from derma E. 1) Cleanse with the derma e Pycnognol Facial Cleanser, Fragrance Free - I had never thought of using a creamy cleanser especially on my skin type but I had never realized that the gentle foaming cleansers were actually causing my acne. So major difference within a few weeks of using this. At nights when I need to get my makeup up I gently rub this cleanser around my face neck and chest twice. Once to get most of the makeup off, then the second time to really clean and open up my skin. Creams feel a bit weird at first but when I do it twice at night there is absolutely no residue and my acne subsiding was the biggest sign of success. 2) Moisturize with derma e Hyaluronic Acid Day Creme - It doesn't break me out and dries to a matte finish so I can put my Colorescience Primer SPF 30 over it. At night I put this Radiant Ovenight Peel on first, then this day creme. The Hyaluronic Night Creme is good too but I usually don't need that much moisture. 3) This dema e Evenly Raidiant Overnight Peel with Alpha Hydroxy Acids - I use this at night only because it does flush and tingle my skin a bit. I know derma e sales this as a peel not a daily treatment but after working with a rockstar esthetician I found out that mature skin needs this amount of exfoliation to keep cell turnover up and elasticity in the skin. The amount of AHA in this is low enough that even my sensitive skin can take it every night as long as I put moisturizer on after it's set. My skin never actually peels with this because it isn't like one of those glycolic peels where you will be shedding for a few days after which is why it is well suited for daily use. The key for sensitive skin is to build up to it. I first used this every other night for about 3 weeks and then every night thereafter. The tingling subsides within about 5-10mins. Using this face routine my skin has never looked better, pores smaller, skin tone balanced, pimples rarely happen. I also like to use the derma e Microdermabrasion Scrub once or twice a week. Update 2 years later: Made a slight change for my skin that is still combo but more on the side of aging than breakouts now. I think the combo of the derma e overnight peel AHA used as a serum 4-5 nights per week, plus their petide plus serum, plus this vitamin A moisturizer really makes a difference at keeping my wrinkles at bay. I stopped using the peptide for their firming serum because it was cheaper and started using a different moisturizer and two months later my wrinkles really came back in. Back to the routine that works. It's about combination. For night the overnight peel used as a serum after washing keeps the skin exfoliated, fresh, unclogged. The peptide serum keeps my skin hydrated and also seems to relax wrinkle areas. The vitamin a green tea moisturizer stimulates cell renewal. These 3 have proven anti-aging ingredients and most studies say you need a year to really reach peak results then when you stop it goes away. Man is that true I hope derma e never stops making these 3 products. It is about continual use. I also use the peptide eye cream day and night and the petide moisturizer during the day under Cotz Face Natural Skin Tone SPF 40 (cheaper than the colorescience I mention above and higher spf) My skin has never looked so flawless. I also have started facial exercises that I've found on YouTube. Just 15mins after my workouts in the AM. Keeping things tight and toned. This is the BEST overnight peel out there. With glycolic acid, lactic acid, and malic acid listed as the top three ingredients after water, I knew it was going to be a high quality product. I have been absolutely delighted with the results and have gifted this to many friends (including several with very sensitive skin) who echo my rave review. My face cleansing/moisturizing routine has gone though a serious evolution over the last couple years as I hit my mid-30s and faced (pun intended) a triple whammy of adult onset acne, the introduction of fine lines, and baggy under eyes that stick around much longer than before. While this product doesn't help with the baggy eyes, it was part of the winning formula I came up with in the battle against my aging skin. I literally went through various combinations of over 100 products recommended by my esthetician, dermatologist, and makeup counter personnel. My skin consistently looks so much better the day after using this product, no matter what. In fact, on those rare nights where i am too lazy to go through my multistep nighttime routine, I convince myself to at least rub a cotton pad with micellar water on my face and followed by this product because I know it will work magic while I sleep. Recently, I stopped using this because I added a prescription nighttime retinol cream to my routine (.025) and was worried this product would interfere since the retinol is a pretty strong exfoliant. However, my dermatologist explained that the retinol works on a much deeper level and the Derma E would actually help my routine because it does such a great job of gently removing superficial dead skin. One friend who has ultra sensitive skin told me the Derma E makes her skin tingle when first applying it, but not in a painful way, just noticeable. And she too absolutely loves how her skin looks in the morning. I personally have never experienced any kind of reaction. I honestly don't think there is a more gentle or impactful AHA product on the market including anything at a higher price point. Score!

I bought this peel after a disastrous reaction to another AHA peel. One of my close friends recommended this to me as it is organic and uses natural extracts instead of lab created chemicals. This peel has almost no scent and is a gel like texture. It absorbs quickly so I find myself probably putting on more than I need. I usually put this on after washing my face and wait about 10-20 minutes before I put on moisturizers and my sleep mask. I found that if I blob on my moisturizers too fast after I end up diluting the solution. Results were not immediate but I did notice a nice glow to my skin when I wake up. I still have my freckles but it does help fade newer blemish spots faster than if left alone. This is pretty gentle and low on acid percentage so I use this every other day because my skin is sensitive. How ever if you have tougher skin it probably can be used nightly.

The best overnight peel! This is gentle enough that my sensitive skin is not irritated by it, but strong enough that I wake up the next morning with beautifully soft (like a babies) fresh, new skin. It also doesn’t hurt that Derma e has a commitment to using clean ingredients. I started by only using it on my face and décolletage, but now I’ve found other uses for it (like my feet in the summer, keeping them nice and soft, sloughing away dead or dry skin and looking like I just got a fresh pedicure) as well as in-grown hair in the bikini area. This is super helpful For feeding dark spots, scars, minimizing fine lines and wrinkles, blemishes and imperfections, and keeping skin soft, moisturized and exfoliated. I love all Derma e products and this is one of my favorites second only to their blue peptide serum. Highly recommend!

I have smooth, sensitive skin. I bought this to help take away dark pigment that resembles freckles. I wanted to try this before I get chemical treatment from dermatologist. It made my skin feel softer since 1st use. I used one pump for my whole face, 2x week. It never burned like some said it would. I increased to 2 pumps 3x week & with 2 pumps felt a very slight burn for about 20 seconds. It’s been about a month and my dark spots are still here, slightly lighter, very slight. Maybe they’ll fade more by the time I finish the bottle. Also- there is no peeling involved. It feels like a light moisturizing serum I use that sounds like Klineek, but starts with a C and is spelled differently. This one soaks in and you rinse it in the morning. I never used anything containing the active ingredient in this Derma-e product. Skin doesn’t visibly peel if you were afraid it might.

I have every type of “acne”/ break out you can get. Blackheads, white heads, the deep cyst like ones, plus I have what is called milia. If you don’t know what that is, I didn’t either until recently. Milia are little white bumps that look like little zits/ Whiteheads but can’t be popped. They really aren’t too noticeable but still a nuisance. They are super hard to get rid of and take FOREVER. Basically the only thing that gets rid of them is exfoliation and you’ll either scrub your face right off or need to drop a small fortune at an aesthetician. Anyway, this peel treats ALL OF THE ABOVE, and is pretty gentle, don’t let the “peel” part scare you. Do your normal face routine, apply this at the end and leave on over night, it stings just a little. It won’t rub off, I feel like it does absorb slightly into your skin. In the AM wash off and do your normal morning face routine. I do use a scrub, the derma e glycolic scrub, it’s pretty gentle as well but has those little beads really scrub. I love it too. I do this 2-3 times a week, depending, (plus one charcoal mask by derma e and a rose mask by peter Thomas Roth). I feel like this is the real game Closer tho. Seriously, your face will have changed 100%. Even my husband, who thinks all this skin care stuff is hocus pocus, said he “can’t deny the difference”. AFTER ONE USE!!!!!!!! And really, that is all I want in life. I would give this product a million stars if I could and I recommend that everyone have it in their routine.

I was worried I'd be peeling from this product, but it's very mild and I've actually been using it nightly for a few weeks all over my face and neck without issue. I have dry, sensitive skin and rosacea. I'm also prone to eczema and my skin has been fine with this product, even around my eyes. This has helped to smooth out and heal some odd bumps I developed around 6 months ago, but they are not gone (I'm waiting to see my provider for a diagnosis of possible sebaceous hyperplasia, per my aesthetician). My skin texture is different, as well, but I can't quite figure out why it feels different (it almost feels a little rough, but doesn't look bad at all). As a precaution, I stopped using my Rx tretinoin 0.05% cream for now, but do use my Rx azaleic acid gel 15% (for rosacea) in the mornings. I also use a good moisturizer over this which may make it less irritating, aside from a very mild stinging sensation when first applied over freshly washed skin. I'd give it a try if you are new to alpha hydroxy acid like I was and have sensitive skin. I think this is a good starter product before buying higher-strength acids and the price is great as a little goes a long way.

I like this product because it’s not super drying. It actually gives you a moisturizing feel. I’ve read a lot about AHA’s and how they can cause dryness and peeling but I don’t have that problem with this. It’s a very mild scent, almost can’t smell it at all. I can definitely see a difference in my overall complexion after using this. I noticed results right away. It helps to clear up my acne and has evened out my skin tone and dark spots. A little goes a long way. Good value for money. It says use 1-2 times a week but honestly you can use it more than that. I have combination skin and it works great for me. I love derma-e and their products but this one is a real go to and definitely staying a part of my skin care routine
