iOCHOW Book & Document Camera

I like so much I got new one .

The device is very good for text but worse than useless for stamps which was the sole reason to buy it. In the images included, the the right-hand one is at 300dpi using a flatbed scanner. This has good definition and the colour is true. That is the quality I expected to get from the IOCHOW S5 as it also produces 300dpi output with its 22Mpixels.The left image is the same block of stamps using the IOCHOW S5. There is a total loss of definition and the colour is far too blue. Zoom in to highlight the difference! Although the image looked good on the computer screen, the device cannot handle the stamp's fine shading lines and areas of solid colour when saving the image as a JPG or TIF file. Photoshop says that image is 303dpi. I hate to think how bad the cheaper S1 and S3 models would be. I am bitterly disappointed.

The supplied page curve correction software for use when scanning books is virtually useless for anything but the thinnest, flattest books;impossible to get a good scan for anything thicker.

Buggy software, but once you learn what to do and not to do, it works like a charm. Even after a crash, the important data is saved, so you are able to recover and continue where you crashed.

Perfecto en todo los aspectos, funciona muy bien y estoy realmente satisfecho.

Die Kamera macht ihren Job und ist für den Preis ganz ok.Erstmal zu meiner negativen Kritik:Die Farbdarstellung ist leider sehr schlecht und beim Einscannen eines Buches ist regelmäßig viel Nacharbeit im Programm und mit anderen Programmen nötig, da die Ränder der Buchseiten oft falsch erkannt werden. Auch werden Finger teilweise nur unzureichend entfernt. Das Nachweißen funktioniert bei Buchseiten nur mit Einschränkungen durch Schatten und die herrschenden Lichtverhältnisse.Positiv:Die Kamera erspart mir viel Arbeit im Vergleich zum Scannen mit einem Flachbettscanner. Sie mag nicht perfekt sein, aber das Scannen selbst (ohne die Nacharbeit) geht sehr schnell. Für reines schwarz-weiß Scannen ist sie gut geeignet.Würde das Programm noch verbessert werden, gäbe es noch mehr Sterne von mir. So kostet mich die Nachbearbeitung einfach noch zu viel Zeit.
