Amber 1 Bike Rack, Great Value
Good value bike carrier for one bike up to 30kg, the rack comes in parts but is fairly easy to assemble with basic tools. The clamping mechanism is very secure and solid when it is clamped to the towball when adjusted properly and a padlock is supplied which prevents the rack from being removed from the vehicle. The wheels of my bike overhang the wheel supports quite a bit but once strapped on it is very secure. I had to buy an adaptor for the electrical connection to convert my 7 pin socket to fit the 13pin plug fitted to the rack, this means the reversing light on the rack does not work. The fog light and reverse light on the rack are on the opposite sides to standard UK and would require some wiring alteration and swapping the light units over to correct but I'm leaving mine as is as I don't think it will be a problem. The clamp that is supplied to hold the bike frame to the rack is a bit short for my use as my vehicle is a van and causes the bike handle bars to touch the van tailgate, this would probably not happen with a car .Overall a good value bike rack that works well.

Great bike carrier for brilliant price
Compared to other bike carriers that are two or three times more expensive this is brilliant value for money. Easily takes my 23kg eMTB securely.

Well made, strong and easy to build and fit.
This product is good value for money and well made. It fits securely to the tow ball and can be locked to the car with the padlock and keys provided Buyers should be aware that it is aimed at the European user and as such some parts of the lighting are the wrong way round for UK use. The rear fog light is on the near side and the reversing light is on the offside. To correct this issue requires a wiring solution. The product has a 13 pin connector so an adapter is needed if using a 12N /12s UK system. The manufacturer states that the carrier can cope with cycles with a wheel base of up to 126cm. My HAIBIKE has a wheel base of 120cm and the wheels do not fit into the centres of the scoops on the carrier. The wheels are hanging over at both ends making it more difficult to securely strap to the carrier. The carrier could do with being considerably wider to properly cater for cycles with longer wheel bases.

It's obviously not for everyone.
It was only after I'd purchased it and put it together that I realised that it's designed for bikes with a conventional tubular frame and crossbar. My ebike has a chunky frame and no crossbar, so I'd need to use bungees to hold it in place. Also it's not nearly wide enough for my wheelbase, making it impossible to secure the wheels safely to stop the bike sliding off. And the lights had to go as the plug doesn't fit my car's electrics. I'm sure that for the right type of bike the Amber is perfect, but sadly that's not mine!
