What is the maximum material depth? For instance will it rivet material with a thickness of a quarter inch?

Different sized rivets allow different material thicknesses. A1/4 “ thickness would require a long rivet.

Can you remove using this as well?

No. Once the rivet has been placed and compressed it would need to be drilled out to remove it.

I used a 4.8mm rivet, but the tail doesn't break off. what am i doing wrong? is it supposed to break off when i open the tool back up?

First off, make sure the nozzel is for the 4.5mm rivet. After fully pressing the handle and the stem did't break, release the handle , press the nozzle close to the rivet and press again. e-Eventually the stem will break.

Good value product.

First time to use a rivet gun. Bought this gun to use in replacing a missing handle on a curved plastic Fender guitar case. The gun works fine but unfortunately none of the rivets included worked with the curved plastic surface where I needed to attach a new handle. I suppose I could have searched and bought/tried other rivet types versus ones included with the gun, but I did not go through that process and just used screws, washers and nuts to solve my particular problem this time. Will keep the gun for future projects that may come along as it was good value and does work.

This thing is junk I tried to use it twice and both times it failed. The second time the rivet got jammed inside it and the tool was no longer useable. I tried vise grips and a bench vise and still couldn’t remove it. I made sure to use the correct head with the correct size rivet but didn’t matter it couldn’t even snap a rivet once they were in. I’d give 0 stars but at least I got some useable rivets for future use just got to buy a new rivet gun now.
