We purchased this garage/gate opener for our electric gate. If we weren't persistent, we would've given the product a 2-3 star, but with some effort it is easily a 5 star, and if I could give their customer service 10 stars I would. By far the best customer service I've had on a product purchased from Amazon. Install: We actually went 3 variations of the product to get one to work. It was very easy to install, the package had a link to their website with clear instructions and pictures, with an easy to use compatibility finder. We hard wired the device to our gate opener and it took about 15 minutes once we figured out what terminals to use. Remootio support was extremely responsive by email (once getting back to me within 1-2 hours of my inquiry; just note they are in the UK). The first one was a dud (which honestly was probably user error), the second one worked flawlessly for 2 days. Then nothing. We contacted customer service again, and finally after a series of back and forth, they recalled that the Remootio 2 actually couldn't be hardwired into the control board - the power source must be external (should've known since we didn't receive an appropriate cord for hardwiring, and had to strip the end of the USB cord). Realizing their error, we received an updated device that did come with the appropriate cord (the Remootio 3). Again, easy to install and has worked beautifully since. Product: It's a great device and app. Much more affordable than many of the other products we would have needed to control our gate with our phone. Also one of the only products on Amazon we found that can be used for either a garage or gate opener. The app interface is really easy to use. It does take a few seconds when you open the app to connect to the gate before you can open/close it, it's a minor inconvenience. We love that we can easily send our friends and family keys, change whether we/they use bluetooth or internet to open it, set time intervals for them to be active. We did install the sensor with notifications as well, which is accurate 90% of the time, here and there we get a random alert that our gate is open and have to look out the window to make sure it's actually closed. Likely the sensors are just close enough and a little bit of movement in the cord or gate triggers the magnet connection. Like I said, great product, even better customer service. We're very happy with our purchase!

Fairly easy to install, you just need to make sure there's a power outlet either inside or next to the gate operator because the Remootio needs to connect to its own USB power adapter, or 5V which you wouldn't usually find in the circuit board of the operator. It works as advertised, you can get the actual state of the gate if using the provided or existing magnetic sensor, and the instructions are also clear enough. I recommend it.

Loved this device - have a crappy Guardian opener that doesn't play well with any of the other remote opener options out there, but Remootio does! Fairly easy to install, and other than the 5% of the time the app is not able to connect to the device (despite internet connectivity not being an issue) I had no real complaints. Until... Until it randomly started dying - the device would not connect, and upon visual inspection I noted the white LED on the device was not on. Unplugged, replugged etc. Eventually it would randomly turn back on and work for awhile, then die again. After a couple of months of this it has completely died (light/device never turns back on). I have messaged the Seller twice over a few week period with zero response. Based on interactions with other sellers on Amazon, this is just not acceptable and really frustrating. Great device, just beware it might not last very long (and you'll receive zero support).

So to make this straight, this on not like devices like Q garage opener which copy your garage code from your remote and basically work as an internet activated remote. This device needs to be hardwired to your opener controller, which means 1) having access to it 2)Know how to to turn off the electricity that goes to gate/garage opener 3)Be familiar with loosening a few screws and hardwiring cables together and screwing them tight. It is absolutely nothing complicated for me, but if this sounds Greek to you stray away from the device or get a technician to install it. For me, it took about 10 minutes to unmount the cover of my gate (liftmaster 850lm)opener, connect the cables setup the app and share keys with coworkers. It is a wonderful device with easy interface and great capabilities like opening the gate automatically when you approach and closing it when you drive away. 100% recommended

Lots of bells and whistles/functionality. One of the few/only products that have both WI-FI and Bluetooth capability. It can be used on garage doors and gates, which most products can't. I compared the Remootio to the Ismartgate and GarageMate. One is only WI-FI; the other is Bluetooth only and not recommended for gates. I like Bluetooth capability due to better security as compared to WI-FI. However, if you want to check your gate's status or want to open/close it remotely, you need WI-FI. The Remootio can do both. The Remootio app is pretty solid, too - auto open, app customizations, electronic security key transfer, Alexa and Google Home compatibility, status sensor, etc. You can tell they put a lot of work into the app. The Remootio comes with multiple connection wires to fit almost every gate/garage maker. This is the most comprehensive device on the market that I'm aware of to make your gate into a smart gate. Some Cons: As stated elsewhere, the directions could be improved upon. Some of the instructions are not clear, are contradictory to the provided wires, or missing information. I understand this to a degree since the Remootio seems almost limitlessly configurable by the customer (Hardware & App). Nevertheless, we shouldn't have to search in four different places to understand how to connect it because once we do, the Remootio is easy to install. To get the best understanding of how to hook the Remootio up properly, I had to read the inbox instructions, the online PDF, and the online compatibility chart. I also had to watch a YouTube video from another customer. I suggest a rethink on the instructions, and all info be provided on the App. The mounting sticker and access screw on the back of the Remootio is a curious design and functionality choice. The access screw should be assessable from the front of the device, or the sticker should be replaced with a mounting bracket. These design choices were clearly not tested by the person who thought them up. Finally, the gate sensor wire should be longer (check or be prepared to add/splice on the extra wire) or, better yet, wireless like the Ismartgate sensor is. Overall I'm happy with the Remootio so far. I was able to get it on sale during Amazon Prime Day for $75. If the full price of the Remootio is too much to stomach, you can roll the dice with the GarageMate, which costs $50 but with nowhere near the functionality of the Remootio and not made for gates.

Bought it yesterday and today it's already controller my gates! Great product, works without any hiccup. I've been trying to do something to automatically close my gate at night and open in the morning. Called up a service guy and he said my old call box was bad and he could install a new one for $2700, plus $50 monthly service fee. Heck, I'm not a billionaire who needs 24/7 monitor of my gate. I don't need any "service" -- I just happened to have a gate and I want to close it at night for better security. I asked the guy about any wifi-based solutions, he said, "well, none of the them works and I wouldn't recommend any of those". Apparently he's wrong, or at least he's wrong when Remootio came out. Highly recommended! I'm editing it after a few days of use -- I wish the product had an option to keep the gate open! This was also mentioned in one of an earlier review. I have a long drive way, and I need the gate to be open during the day so that Amazon delivery truck can enter. Even though I don't use auto-close, the gate still closes whenever a car pass through. It was kept open previously by the old call box but the whole purpose of installing Remootio is to get rid of the old outdated call box. I tried to reconfigure the output options from "impulse" to "free relay" but it did not hold the relay at all. I'm emailing their support and hopefully they can come up with a solution. At last, I hope that they read Amazon reviews and understand this is a highly desirable feature.

This thing has great software and works perfectly. My own door opener did NOT work, but that was because it is not compatible. My fault... I took a quick look at the list for LIFTMASTER and saw "compatible" but I did not review the whole long list, dumb me. Anyway I wired it all in and all it could do was reset the door clock to 12:00. did it from Bluetooth, WiFi, and over internet. just did not open the door. BUT I WAS VERY IMPRESSED. Had to return it.

Tried the Lift-master, beyond difficult and requires a $15 monthly subscription. Tried a couple of others, set-up was a nightmare and I'm very tech knowledgeable. This unit plugged at my gate, WiFi from house reached fine, two wire hook up, set app up and works perfect. Can program open/close times, auto close after you leave, control via App anywhere. Has a nice BT set-up, when you get close to gate will open. Siri and Alexa control as well. HIGHLY recommend!!
