I read some reviews that said this device had lots of problems with the microphone. I found none, but recognize that the unit I bought was a "second edition" version. I have nothing but good stuff to report. The rechargeable battery lasts far longer than my 3-year old granddaughter's attention span, which is hours. I pre-loaded it with songs from Frozen and Frozen II, Annie, Let It Be and Christmas songs. The display is nice, but songs are referenced only by a number (basically the order in which they were loaded). No name like on your iPhone. That's fine for a kid who will just keep pushing the forward and back buttons to find her favorite, though. The audio quality is much better than expected and there's no distortion even when you "crank it up to 11." The microphone unplugs and you can actually add a second mic if you want with a 3.5 mm mini plug. There are two jacks. The backside has a secure cover and you can load more music with a flash drive. I bought a mini flash with 8 GB. It's very hard for her to pull out and makes song selection and loading much simpler. The light show is a nice addition, as is the mic holder that folds out from the back. It's a great piece of electronic fun for a young child. It was hard to locate one in time for Christmas, but this would be great for any occasion.

I did not like this product and gave it a negative review. I judge it from an adult perspective. When we packed it up to send it back my granddaughter cried. She had already named the toy. We packed it and tried to explain that we thought the quality was not worth the money. We ent it back and for days she was very unhappy ; and asked for her toy. Against my better judgment I ordered her another one. She loves it and knows how to work it. I must say this is the perfect toy for a three year old. Thanks Amazon for the line of toys you carry for small children.

Microphone and music dial balance works well. Options for loading music by USB, directly from laptop/computer, or bluetooth. Sound wuality is good too. Standard connection for mic so it can be replaced.

I can’t speak to the durability of this product as it will be a Christmas present this year to my two year old granddaughter who loves frozen. What I can say is I should have read the information regarding this machine better before I bought it as it does not have any music loaded on it and you have to load it all. I was very disappointed when I realized this. I guess I just saw the hundred plus songs it will hold and assumed they were already on there.After the initial shock I went out and purchased music from a few Disney movies that I knew my granddaughter liked and put them on a memory stick which when inserted into the karaoke machine plays beautifully.My daughter is very skilled with all of this and I’m certain will also use the streaming capability that this device has. I can say that other than this one “oops “ that I discovered after purchase I am very pleased with this product and find it very well made with excellent sound quality. I also now think it’s a good thing there was not music loaded on it as we can now load only the music that my granddaughter likes and she can also record her own voice and play that.Definitely worth the money

Granddaughter was sooooo excited. She was singing as fast as Mom could get the songs she knew. Her brothers even joined in the singing. Fun! Dad showed her how to lower the volume …so all is good!

Hours and hours of fun. Her daddy records himself singing songs, letters, and numbers at nite so she gets to learn with him and momma during the day! At 2 she knows her colors and numbers up to 10. The aound qualirt is great! Very durable for a toddler she like to sit on it lol. Over all pleased with this product.

I got it for my daughter for her 3rd birthday and she absolutely loves it. When I was younger I had one and my siblings and I would always put on a full concert and im happy to see my daughter enjoying it the same way I did. It was a great purchase.
