SKIL 10" Dual Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw-MS6305-00

This miter saw is amazing!!! I just replaced an old, very old 10" chop saw. The features for the money are incredible. I love the shadow line. That is so much more accurate than a laser and easier to see. It's the exact spot where the blade is going to drop down!!! It is really improved my productivity. The hold-down clamp is something you will not find on a saw at this price!!! Just drop it down onto the wood, and then clamp it. It's a quick and easy and an extremely secure safety measure. I used it today when I had a kickback situation arising. I was able to stop the process and used the clamp to complete the cut, safely. I'm building a cabinet for this saw and my new Skil table saw. It's not complete yet but I had to stop working on it because I had orders coming in LOL. So I set up these saws temporarily even though the cabinet is not complete. The 10" size is perfect (for me) because it is a slider and you can still cut 12 in stock. This handles a 4x4 with ease. The base is very stable and also includes a stability support near the adjustment handle. The hold down clamp storage fits in the slot on either side of the saw. They kept selling out of this saw during Christmas and it took a few weeks to get it. Absolutely worth the wait!!!

I‘ve wanted to buy a nice power miter saw for many years. I finally decided to do it and researched the various brands and types. I settled on this compound miter saw from Skil Saw after carefully weighing the features and reviews against the competition. I believe I made the best choice. It is a very sturdy piece of equipment with great features. The engineering shows a lot of careful planning. Controls and adjustments are conveniently and safely located. Operation is very intuitive and since I’m a beginner, I really appreciate this. I‘ve used it several times for simple cuts and so far, I couldn’t be more pleased. I feel confident cutting with it by following the instructions carefully. The cuts are precise and accurate. If I had to find a fault, it would be that it is kind of messy. The collection bag doesn‘t seem to collect much of the saw dust while cutting and it ends up all over the machine. Maybe I’m doing something wrong, but clean up isn‘t that difficult. The price was super good and I bought it as a package with a nice stand that seems custom made for mounting this saw. I look forward to many years of reliable service from this saw. Skill has earned by trust.

Purchased to replace an old Delta miter saw that had provided years of good service. The MS-6305-00 is a very nice saw. The dual-bevel sliding functionality is a big improvement over the old Delta. The built-in light and blade position indicators are very helpful and useful. So far there are a couple of downsides. One is that the adjustment screw that limits the forward and back travel tends to move under vibration and needs to be readjusted frequently (need to figure out a fix for that - maybe some non-permanent thread locker or a locking nut). The other is regarding the very useful material clamp that is included and works well - was hoping to buy another one for the other side of the saw but they are apparently no longer available. Given the feature set, the Skil MS6305-00 is a bargain and an excellent value vs. other miter saws with similar feature sets. Highly recommended.

Excellent tool. Precise cuts. The depth adjustment screw could be improved; I use it for making half lap joints whenever the joint is too deep for using a router. The fence is a bit wobbly, however, and the press down clamp tends to move the wood slightly thus losing precision. The guard guide screw came lose after several hours of use, but it took 10 seconds to fix. The saw had been overtighten at the manufacture, so don't use the provided tool in this case if you don't want to strip the screw, use a higher quality philips bit with a longer handle for more torque.

This saw exceeded my expectations. The straight, bevel, and miter cuts were dead on right out of the box. The shadow cutting line is easy to see and improves accuracy...feature is found on upscale saws. I also like the clamping feature. I bought this as a back up saw, while my Dewalt is being repaired but I think my Dewalt will become my backup. The utube videos about this saw are spot on. My money was well spent.

Cortes perfectos sin necesidad de ajustar nada. El disco de corte que trae deja los cortes muy prolijos. Los materiales de primera calidad. El motor es brushless. En fin, una muy buena compra para quieres vamos empezando en la carpinteria, quizá para el profesional les quede corta pero evidentemente no es el publico al que esta dirigido este articulo.

Very pleased with the saw, cuts straight and square. Needed no adjustments out of the box, but wise to check to make sure everything is square. Has sufficient adjustments to ensure squareness. Appears to be solidly built, and of very reasonable quality for a prosumer saw. Out of the box everything moved smoothly, and precisely. The saw blade recess is fairly wide, so would recommend getting some saw miter kerf tape, but this is common with most miter saws. Did not use the blade that came with the saw, replacing it with a higher tooth count crosscut blade, but the blade did not appear to be that bad. The clamp is excellent, holds fast, and easy to lock. The shadow line is excellent, although it is either on or off full time not engaged when pressing the trigger. Not a big deal since it is powered by supply voltage. The handle on top for carrying is nice, as is the multi-handed operational handle. Overall feels sturdy and should last. Dust collection kind of sucks, but that seems to be common to most miter saws. The cut depth adjustment stop seems kind of cheap (essentially a bolt that limits cut depth), but it does work so no big deal. Lastly the blade takes a while to stop, seems there is no blade brake, but the guard deploys quickly so again not a show stopper. Overall seems to be a very good saw, for a very good price.

Very good quality. Haven't found any issues yet. I replaced the blade as I do with most tools, other than that I love all the features of this one.
