Berkshire Blanket Extra-Fluffy Super Soft Warm Cozy Luxury Blanket, Eggplant, Twin

I bought this blanket and was initially very excited about it. It's very soft and the color is nice. I own 3 other Berkshire Blankets and LOVE them. I'm not sure if they company changed production or if this is not an authentic Berkshire, because it is AWFUL!I washed it before using, but the shedding and pilling was relentless. Gobs and gobs of blanket fuzz all over my sheets and clothes. The blanket was pilling up into little tuffs of fuzz everywhere. DO NOT buy this blanket. It is terrible.After comparing this tag to the tag on my other 3 Berkshire blankets, the tag is different. This says "Berkshire Blanket and Home" while my other blankets just say "Berkshire Blanket". The font, etc is similar, but not the same. Not sure if this is a knock off or just changes in the company where the quality is now poor.

This blanket sheds worse than a Husky in the Sahara. It’s plenty soft and plush, but the fur balls were taking over the whole house. I tried to like it but I can’t live with that. The other reviews mention this as well. I tried with 4 different orders, in the hope that I had received the odd lemon. But it happened with all of them.I got a Berkshire blanket back in 2012 and it has been a loyal partner since. No shedding, no complaining. I came back but something has changed. Perhaps it is that the old one had a Polartec tag and the material was high quality.This doesn’t cut it. Needs to be withdrawn in its current form and quality (control) tightened.

This was the one thing my son requested for his birthday. Eventually these blankets wear out either through improper washing or just constant use. The wonderful soft fluffy texture becomes nubby and although still warm, not as delicious to use. He used his previous blanket every night for multiple years and was ready for a replacement. The first one took some serious abuse because it was used as an extra throw on his bed instead of the official blanket made up with the sheets and all. This allowed him to sleep on top of the made bed and avoid having to make it officially when he got up--just smooth it out. He has an odd schedule and doesn't keep standard hours so having this blanket available for naps as well was very useful.Until you've tried one of these throws or blankets, you can't imagine how heavenly they feel and how warm for the lightness of the fabric. Nothing else compares. You do need to wash it with special care though in order for the fluffy fibers to maintain their length and fullness. This newer version is more prone to shedding than the original, so it's best to wash it alone, but still you can't beat them.

I purchased several of these years ago and the guests in our vacation rental love them. They were plush, soft and warm. It's time to replace them and I ordered 3 and they are not the same. They are thin and cheap and I will be sending them back and looking elsewhere.

When I first took this out of the bag it seems so wonderful! I even used it as a pillow cover at first, because it was so soft and cozy warm and wonderful. but after using this every day,it now sheds worse than a dog in the spring time. these little fuzzy pills are everywhere! in the bed! on the floor! on my clothing! and all over my my pajamas and T-shirts! and they are even migrating into my closet with my shirts, hoodies, and sweaters! Good grief!!but if those little fuzzball don’t bother you, then you would absolutely love it.But in my case it’s driving me nuts because they are now everywhere!!!I have four or five other Berkshire Brand blankets and none of them are doing this. I’m not sure where this is actually manufactured maybe that’s the problem???

I bought this blanket for my daughter back in September. It just sheds off so bad that every morning when I pull the blanket off of my daughter, she is covered in the shedding. I thought well maybe it is because it is new. I have given it a long enough chance to see that it will not stop shedding. The thick balls of lint that covered my daughter have ruined her clothes. I can't get it out of her clothes. I am just throwing this in the trash because it has been so long. I have to warn parents about this blanket. It is awful. Don't buy it.

It seems the quality of these items has recently gone down hill.The Eggplant color is absolutely perfect, I saw a different version in a bbb store and had to have one. I have several different colors of Berkshire blankets and sheets. I've never had much problem with the blankets but the sheets pill like CRAZY because the background weave is much thinner than the blankets so the nap sheds a lot - though nothing is softer and more cozy in the winter, not even flannel. They wash well and as long as you use a good detergent they don't hold odor, with no bald spotting on delicate like cheaper knockoffs. Invest in a cheap bristle brush to keep them combed after washing, keeping nice things take work. If you don't want to do the work hire a maid.That said, the color and fluffiness of this blanket are primo. However this is the first Berkshire Blanket item I've purchased that had multiple structural flaws. The hems are shoddy and apparently whoever was working the cover hem machine on the hems failed sewing class and was totally drunk at work, they're uneven and fabric bulks out beyond the hem lines leaving you with a sloppy and shoddy looking product. I sew and have a cover hem machine so was able to fix them all so they don't look embarrassing when flashing off my bedrooms.Yet, the quality of the sewing from the distributor was very poor when compared to all my previous Berkshire Blanket items.tldr; blanket is amazingly soft and fluffy and feels wonderful, but it looks sloppy from the manufacturer.

This blanket is as soft as a cloud but sheds worse than a Husky dog blowing its coat. I love the softness and warmth, but I'm convinced it's only a matter of time before I have to chuck this thing in the trash. We've only had it a few days, and it's been washed once (before first use)...gentle cycle cold and air fluffed (no heat) in the dryer as directed. The blanket has only been used in my kid's room, but the lint is already in every room of my house. :(
