Review: Solid battery with charger - Got this battery for an immersionRC power play unit. Works well, battery life is excellent. Went a few days of use for long sessions. It’s nice that it comes with 4 batteries. Don’t have to worry about portable power. You can charge it with a portable usb3 backup unit on the road or in the car with the cigarette lighter or in the wall. When you insert the battery to the charger the prongs feel little weird, like it’s cheaply made. You can feel the springs pull back, none the less, it’s an amazing buy.

**Q: What is the difference between 1400mAh and 1500 or1600mAh in these 18500 solar batteries?**
A: The mAh rating is the amount of charge the battery can retain, stated in milliamps at the rated battery voltage for a defined time duration.  Thus if you have a 200 mA load, a fully charged 1,400 mA-hour battery will power that load for 7 hours, a 1,500 mA-hour battery will power it for 7 1/2 hours, and a 1,600 mA-hour charge will power that same load for 8 hours.

**Q: I have a 3.2v can I use this 3.7 instead**
A: Nope

**Q: what is the actual length and wideth of the battery? I am trying to replace batteries on solar post lights.**
A: 18.3mm diameter by 51mm long.

**Q: how does the charger work , plugs into the wall , or has a separate wire?**

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Charger stops early -- maybe that's a good thing

The batteries seem fine so far, but the charger I received has a problem: Lithium Ion cells with a nominal voltage of 3.7 volts (like these) are fully charged when their open-circuit voltage reaches 4.2 volts. Most chargers will charge all the way to 4.2 volts, but the charger I received stops charging at 4.0 volts. This means the batteries are only about 90% charged when it stops. When I first discovered this, I considered returning it, but actually this is better for the long term health of the batteries, so I decided to keep it. You may want to check yours -- if there's a lot of variation from one charger to another, it's possible some could stop much earlier, or worse, they could overcharge batteries and damage them.
