Buy Key to the Major Groups of British Freshwater Invertebrates (AIDGAP) by Croft, Paul (ISBN: 9781851531813) from desertcart's Book Store. Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: Useful - A great guide for identifying various freshwater inverts in the UK Review: Does what it says! - Covers the major groups - there's a lot it doesn't cover but will set you on the right track. Very useful for those just beginning to find out "what's there" and for those - like me - who's expertise is on much smaller aquatic invertebrates - ones you can't see with the naked eye!

Very useful, clear, concise and straight forward to use. Used by myself to track the micro fauna in my fish tank

Invertebrate book
Would have been better as colour pictures rather than black and white drawings in my view.

For broad classification into orders and families
Actually was not as seen, but the original edition with the page numbering from the AIDGAP series in Field Studies. The newer edition (as depicted) has different page numbering, although there are still one or two 'hangovers' from the older edition where the original page numbers are referred to as I found when I was trying to help the students in the lab!! The key takes you down the dichotomous route to identify Order and Family in some cases (although not for all Orders, e.g. not for Plecoptera) - the students found this very frustrating, because many of them had mastered identification to family level where possibly by the second 2-hour session, even though the majority had little or no prior experience with invertebrates.
