It WORKS !!!!
I could not wait to be asked to review this product. I originally stayed away from the safaris brush be cause I figured for the price range it probably work, boy was it wrong. First of all when I first was looking for a dematting brush I opted for a two sided dematter which worked great as a brush to get the loose and dead hair out, but when I found a serious matt I resorted to my scissors to cut through the matt or just simply cut it out because I could not work through the matt with the dematter brush. Then I was watching a grooming video and noticed the groomer going to the safari dematter to remove a bad matt. It got my attention did a little more research and decided to give it a try. My pup, a mini Goldendoodle has a coarse coat which matts pretty quick if I don't brush and comb her often. I had found a pretty bad matt in her armpit which I had attempted to remove a few days earlier. As soon as I received the safari tool I went to work, I really was astounded at how easy, painless for both me and my pet, and how well it broke up the matt with no real pulling just cutting right through the matt. I cannot say enough about the Safari dematting brush and would highly recommend it to anyone, this is a great brush.

Removes mats!
This is an amazing tool that really works well to get out and prevent mats. Every doodle owner should have this! My groomer was so surprised that my longer haired goldendoodles didn’t have a single mat. Even my one dog that hates brushing lets me use this on him! Just be careful to not touch the blades since they are sharp!

Great for my Bernadoodle
Using for a few months now and it works well, however, BE CAREFUL. It is VERY sharp, and I sliced the palm of my hand left hand (using it with my right hand). If you use it carefully, it does a great job getting through matted fur. I have a Bernadoodle that is more poodle, and his fur mats very easily. If I don't brush and comb him every day (for at least an hour) he starts getting matts. This gets through them easily enough....just be careful....for your self and your dog. This is made for right handed people, fyi.

Works wonders for a sheep-haired poodle
I have two poodles with very different hair. My 14-lber has coarse, thick curly hair. He looks like a sheep. Trying to brush his hair is like trying to brush a sheep, and when I shave him, it comes off in a pelt. Admittedly, he does not get brushed a lot, because it's a very difficult job, he's extremely wiggly, and when he doesn't want something done, he flips onto his back and puts his mouth on the tool. He's naughty. I bought this tool as a means to try to start doing a better job grooming him. He has a very long, very cool looking top knot, but it gets soooo tangled, so my hope was I could shave his body and use this dematting rake on his head. It turns out that this tool kept me from having to shave his entire body. I used a slicker brush for as much as I could, and then I switched to this tool. I had to start out shallow, and go deeper with each pass. The amount of fur that was flying out of his haunches was insane. He was very patient, and stood there and let me use this thing on him. Eventually, I was able to use a slicker and then a greyhound comb on him, since this thing got through those knots with absolute ease. A word of caution though is that it is very very sharp. I had taken the cover off, and I got distracted for a second, and I must have run my finger across one of the tines, because the next thing I knew I was bleeding. Make sure when you clean out the hair, you do it from the back side of the tines which are not sharp! happy grooming!

Great tool that really works!
I bought two different dematting combs for my Mini Bernedoodle. Her hair gets matted seemingly overnight! We throughly dematted her before talking her to a self wash station at our local pet company and she came home with tons of matting again. When she goes to sleep she wakes up with matting. The other comb just slides through her hair like it was just a normal comb. It didn’t dematt at all. This comb slides through pretty easily but actually pulls out most of the matted hair. The only reason that I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 is because the spacing on the comb seems a bit far apart and it does get small tangles. But it got 90% of the matted hair so I’m super happy about that and while she still hates to be combed, she is much better than she was with this comb and the amount of matted hair it gets is amazing.

A 'Must have' for Golden Retrievers
Life changer for Golden Retriever owners. This gets the burrs and foxtails out of the undercoat and sensitive places without a fight, no growls, no shying away. My dogs live on a farm and get into the river bottom daily. This removes Cockle Burrs, Houndstongue, and foxtails easily. For years I would brush and pick them out. Then I just started cutting them out with clippers and sissors leaving my dogs looking like a patchwork quilt. With the de-matting comb I simply work the points in behind the burr and gently work the comb through the fur. Amazing. What used to take hours is done in minutes! I carry it with me on walks and while hunting. I bought three as Christmas gifts for my friends with Griffons. Quality product. Nice handle. Stainless steel teeth. It comes with a protective cover for the sharpo teeth. Keep the cover so you can carry the comb with you.

Quickly removes mats.
I have a miniature schnauzer with hair that mats very easily, and he has very sensitive or ticklish skin and feet, and hates to be brushed. This comb works great at quickly removing mats, with very few strokes, tugs, and little pulling. He tolerates it better than any other brush or comb I've tried.

One of just three grooming products you will need to get your dog looking great!
I cannot count how many times I have recommended this product to other dog owners. They meet me and my labradoodle on the street or in the dog park and we start commiserating about how tangled these breeds get. Then they start running their hands through my dog's coat in amazement. Nine dollar Safari razor comb on Amazon. It really is that easy. This comb is truly amazing. It won't do everything for you, though, and if you haven't brushed the tangles (not mats) out first, you will just end up ripping your dog's hair out. First, brush the dog with a normal slicker brush. I do all of these steps by area of the dog, by the way, so I'm not brushing the whole dog all at once, just one leg first, for example, then his head, then another leg. The first step gets out the superficial tangles. Second, comb the dog, in the direction of the hair, with the de-matting comb. Use a normal combing motion so as not to hurt the dog. Third, comb the dog using a rake comb (not a razored rake), also in the direction of the hair. This is also good between the toes. This gets out the tufts of mats that you just broke up with the razor comb and goes all the way to the skin to detangle everything. Finally, go back and brush the dog again with a normal slicker brush or with a comb on the face and ears. This picks up all of the loose hairs left behind by the razor comb that would just end up creating new tangles. You really don't need a hundred dollars worth of fancy french poodle brushes. You just need three cheap tools to get a great looking, happy, mat-free dog. It's worth noting that there is no way to sharpen the blades because they are slightly serrated. But for nine dollars, I'm just going to buy a second one (I've had this one for 2 years).

excelente

Excellent product
I just got this item today and quickly groomed my puppy. I have a 6 month old Biewer Terrier who is terrified of being groomed. She cries and yips and complains horribly when I try to brush her regardless of how gentle, and careful I am to support her skin while I comb her out. It breaks my heart to have to groom her. This tool went through her hair like a hot knife through butter. I LOVE IT. I have a dematting comb that is the same idea but the teeth on this new one are much MUCH sharper. The teeth cut through the tangles better without cutting the hair that offers no resistance. My one complaint is the design: one of the things that appealed to me about this product is that I can change the direction of the teeth for left-handed cutting. I assumed that the top of the comb would just unscrew to attach in the opposite direction to change the direction of the teeth. NOPE..it's more complicated than that. The teeth and each separator all come off the base and need to be reassembled. I managed to do this in just a few minutes...but it was a bit of a pain. There has to be an easier way. In all...my small complaint is really no big deal. It's an excellent comb and will make grooming so much easier for both me and my wee girl. I would highly recommend making this part of a dog grooming tool kit.

Produit conforme
coupe et démêle bien , mais attention quand les nœuds sont gros , peut faire mal. Pas toujours facile de bien positionner la prise en main " gauche / droite" . Mais tout de même très efficace.
