Our JRT is a 'shortie' version, meaning she is lower to the ground and longer than standard JRT's. It's always been hard to find a coat that wasn't too short on her body. This coat is great! It's really well made and covers more of the dog than any I've ever seen. The neCK is like a loose-ish turtleneck, so it goes all the way up to hear ears and stays in place, but isn't tight enough to cause her any discomfort. The belly band is nice and wide and adds warmth around the girth, and is adjustable, letting you choose which set of snaps work best for your dog's body. The design of the coat is good because it doesn't cut way up in the back like some that totally expose the hips. This one completely covers the hips. There are elastic straps that go around the back legs to keep it in place. They're not tight, so not uncomfortable. The zipper in front is nice, but we leave ours unzipped to allow for fully free movement of our dog's front legs. However- the extra fabric there does come around nicely to cover her chest and the fronts of her legs. Nice nylon fabric on top and soft fleece underneath. It's well made, so I think it will last for a long time. Easy to put on and take off. It it came in other colors, we'd probably order another one for variety. We got a size small for our 13-14 lb female JRT.

I've purchased other brands and they are usually too small. I have a Doberman Pinscher and he is about 90 pounds with a long body and long legs. This coat fit the length of his body perfectly! He used to hate wearing his coats but now he stands still for me to put it on. We live in Colorado and as you can imagine it can get pretty cold. The coat has snaps where others have velcro the wide belt fits around his tummy perfectly so it doesnt get wet when he potty's. The removable liner makes it a perfect light jacket when removed. Highly recommend this item. Seller made the purchase quite seamless with fast shipping, a quality product, and a warm fur baby.

My Great Dane is about 110 lbs. It's difficult to find a good-looking jacket that fits her on amazon.com, but this one works well enough for now, looks pretty, and is a great price. We got the blue one. The length of the XX Large, neck to tail, is long enough for her size, however the front zipper that lies across her front has to remain totally unzipped due to her deep chest. The stretchy straps that go around the hind legs to keep the jacket steady, move too far under the base of her tail, because of her Great Dane shape-- that's uncomfortable to her and looks awkward, so I do not use that, but this allows for some slipping of the jacket unfortunately. I'm sure Greyhounds and other dogs with wide fronts and small hinds would have the same problem. Despite these minor problems, the coat looks quite magnificent on her and keeps her warm and feeling secure. I love that there are buttons for the strap around her mid-section, rather than velcro. It's much better that way. The floofy neck is beautiful and keeps her warm-- it reaches to just about her ears and is perfect that way.

I ordered 2 of these in 2 different sizes as my girl is an exception to the measurement rule. The larger of the 2 fit better, and even allows for the use of her hoodie underneath for extra warmth. This was a great addition to my dog's wardrobe as it protects her from the colder winds in the winter. Very easy to put on and take off. Love the coloring and reflective strips.

I purchased two of these coats a couple weeks ago and just used them for the first time yesterday since we were getting some cold weather and snow in the south. I have two German Shepard’s. One male in female. I purchased an XXL for my male and an XL for my female. The one for my female fit great the one for my male was slightly too big but that was on. Pros were that they were easy to put on each of my dogs. The lining was nice and seemed like it would help keep them warm. Also the neck collar was soft and seemed to add some extra warm in that area. Now for the cons. Although they are water proof, the neck section is not. It happen to rain when my dogs had them on the neck part was soaked. I ended up having to take them off and putting them in the dryer and put them back on my dogs. Since it was going to be cold I didn’t want something wet against their fur. One of the straps that the legs go through to hold the coat in place, broke in a matter of an hour. Some of the others stretched out and lost its elasticity. All in all if the material around the neck was water proof like the rest of the coat I would have rated it better and could have over looked the other issues. But at this point I will be sending them back.

This is the West Point version of the Long Gray Line coat for your dog. It’s good looking with nice lines and style that will draw lots of compliments. I have an active Min-Pin, weighs 15lbs and is 15in tall. His measurements are 15in from neck to tail, 20in chest circumference and 12in neck circumference. The Medium size I ordered suits my purpose because he has layered clothing underneath when it's cold so it fills out nicely. But, if it were to be worn alone without clothing underneath then I would go down 1 size. The interior lining is a nice soft fleece that matches the collar. He loves to play outdoors with my 2 large German Shepherds. I bought this product for brisk fall/winter days to layer over his under clothing. LOVE the product, style and execution BUT came with the Pull-strap around the neck not sewn in properly on 1 side so as soon as I pulled on the neck tightener slide it came out and only tightened one side not both. I know how to sew so was able to reattach in minutes with no problem. Then the collar zipper teeth broke in 2 days. The delicate zipper is inadequate for active dogs. Needs an INDUSTRIAL strength zipper with heavy duty zipper teeth to accommodate active dogs. NOT a deal breaker for me because I can replace it but I shouldn't have to. The neck wrap is wonderful and stands up well on its own for a cold windy day. Very soft and thick and you can pull it up or fold it in half. All in all it’s a 4 out of 5, BUT would be a 5 with a better zipper! Still...highly recommend!

I bought this for my 65-70 lb lab . It’s a great jacket and a great price. I ordered the XL in red and it’s a good fit with lots of room for adjustment .I will be looking at heavier jackets as well with this seller. Nice and warm and keeps the rain off. Easy to take on and off and the harness loop can poke through the back hole. Have had several comments about how good it looks and I'm very happy about the quality.
