Not the best sound but a well made fun gift! It is a little bulky around the neck but kids enjoy it!

I used to wear one of these around my neck all the time. The idea being, I'd always have an instrument to play. But this one is way too big for that. They come very small. The fingering on an instrument like this isn't the most intuitive so I gave it 3 stars for the "easy to learn". But it's not that hard. If you just want to learn flute, I'd say try like a Generation flute or something first. If you want to learn 6 hole ocarina specifically, then go for it. It's great for that.

I was really worried I'd get a dismal sound, but surprisingly it produced a smooth like butter tone. I don't have a pitch tester on hand, so I can't say if it's tuned properly or not. Mighty nice, imho

We have a lovely ocarina already but my son always wanted to borrow it and I prefer that one be more for me. I decided to surprise him with his own for our music class though. This has a beautiful array of colors and the glaze pattern is stunning. It is tuned to the Key of C which makes it easier to play a lot of songs by ear at this stage. It is a smaller instrument but the size is perfect for a child at the elementary age. Plus, it comes wity a nice lanyard to wear around one's neck so if it slips from their hands it won't fall and break. When done playing, it has a nice protectice bag to keep it in. My son has already been enjoying figuring out some tunes to play for me and perhaps we will even be able to work on a Christmas duet.

This is a very pretty ocarina and it sounds okay but it's out of tune. No, you're not playing it wrong or even badly. This ocarina will never sound like it should so don't give up, just buy a better one.

I bought 3 of them to include in my kiddos Easter baskets. All three of my children LOVED their ocarina! Their ages range from 11 to 20 years old, two boys and a girl. Perfect gift for preteen- adult. I appreciate that each ocarina came with an instruction booklet with songs to play. The only disappointment was that one of the 3 packages arrived without the attachable necklace part.

This is cute, fun and easy to learn. I say "easy to learn" when I have no idea what an ocarina sounds like, when properly played, lol! This was a late night/impulse buy. I was a bored, single, insomniac. But, now, I can entertain myself learning to play Happy Birthday on something WAY cooler than a recorder and way cheaper than a keyboard.
