Wahl Professional Animal Pet, Dog, and Cat Premium Nail Grinder Trimming Kit (#5972), Pink, 3.7 OZ

Having pitched out a competitor's dog nail polisher/trimmer for outright failure to work, I'm very happy with this product! It doesn't eat up batteries and it has been hard at work for me for about a year now (vs the two trimmings my last trimmer/polisher lasted). It's very quiet and doesn't freak my flighty Italian Greyhounds out, so they tolerate me using it on their nails without acting as though I were planning to assassinate them with it, so that's also a huge plus. And I appreciate the many (MANY!) extra "heads" that came with it. Were I to change anything, it would be to make those little sandpaper heads fit more tightly into the case the product comes with; I manage to dislodge most of them every time I open the case.

I have a 10:pound dog and this grinder has a tough time grinding his nails. I love the reverse. I wish they would make a more powerful rechargeable unit with the reverse speed. They have the right idea but the product needs improvement. The reverse speed keeps the grinder from bouncing against the nail.

I'm a dog groomer and ordered this to try on my smaller dogs and for the low noise; it takes me 10-15 minutes to do their nails because it's not very powerful at all and if you apply any kind of pressure either the top pops off or it completely stops spinning. I had to order a different brand/kind of dremel just after only using this one for a few days. One positive is the noise is very low and does not scare the dogs.

I need help. I don't know if it's the nail grinder or me but I can't seem to make any headway on my dog's nails she is half border collie and half lab and I'm rather timid about using it so I don't want to blame the grinder it's a good size but I just don't know,I just can't seem to make it work to trim her nails. If anybody has any advice I would take it in a heartbeat. I will say it's quiet .it fits really good in my hand but it does not seem to shorten the nails. Maybe it's me I don't know what thickness means but it is a good size.

I have been looking for something to help with my pet rats nails. I’m too scared to try and use nail clippers cause their toes are so tiny. After reading the reviews saying this file wasn’t very powerful or strong I decided to try it out. It did a fantastic job at filling my little babies nails and was gentle enough to not hurt them. This product is definitely suited for small pets.

Our sweet tabby used to allow us to clip her nails/claws. About a year ago, she started protesting (hissing, scratching), but we could still do it. A few months ago, our cat sitter who is also a vet tech started doing it for us but last month our tabby exerted the strength of a Siberian tiger and no one including our veterinarian could manage to clip her nails. We even tried mild sedation with gabapentin, but no one could get the job done (and we like our skin and our furniture). When we received the grinder, we started to expose her to it without any of the grinding tools inserted just so she would get used to the vibrations and the light. We did this for about 5 minutes several times a day for about a week. Then, I inserted the mid-level grinding tool and tried it on the nails on her back paws. There were no protests. I waited a day and then very tentatively tried one of her front paws. She didn't love it, but after two sessions I completed all of the nails on one paw. The next day, I did the other paw. She let me do all the nails in one session. We are thrilled with the Wahl Professional Animal Pet, Dog, and Cat Premium Nail Grinder! More importantly, Goldie is satisfied with its performance.

I thought that this would be perfect for my standard poodle with dark nail and it was very subpar and not as big as I thought it was according to the pictures.

Muy buen producto. Solo recomiendo que sea utilizado en razas pequeñas, ya que no tiene mucha potencia y en las uñas de razas grandes se traba.

Compact & quite

Purchased last year. Did not even last a full year. Cons: Tip thimbles started flying off. And can’t purchase refill tip thimbles even if I wanted to.Pros: like the size. Noise not too loud my pup could tolerate. And speed was good enough to feel comfortable with using tool on my pup.
