My Favorite Writing Pen
I love this pen/marker. It is designed for signing autographs, hence "Sign Pen". I need to write with a thicker line and ballpoint is not thick enough. I've used Sharpies but they are not designed for long session writing for journals or note taking and I don't like the smell. What I love about this pen is: 1. love how it feels in my hand. 2. love how smooth it writes, it makes writing enjoyable. 3. the thickness is almost perfect. not so thick it takes up too much ink and sapce not too thin that it is not easy to read. 4. no toxic smell 5. ink lasts longer than toxic markers. I love this pen so much I bought a box for a writer-cartoonist friend. She was so thrilled that I bought her a whole box!

Most perfect PE
These are the absolute best Ben’s for those who love a chunky felt tipped pen. I bought one at a boutique out of town and quickly fell in love with it. I work at a University whose color is purple, so this is the perfect pen to use to write thank you notes.

Easy to read
These pens have a wide enough point width that what you write is easily read. Perfect for grading papers!

Replaced my flair pens that I can’t find anymore
For whatever reason, it seems to be hard to find blue felt tip pens. I usually bought the Papermate flair pens, but they seem to have disappeared. So I bought these as an alternative and I must say I am very pleased with these pens. They write nice bold vivid lines and the ink dries very quickly. They’re a bit thicker than the flair pens so writing with them is actually much more comfortable. They seem to last a bit longer too, and I don’t know if that’s because they have a larger ink volume or what but a 12 pack of these for the price is excellent and I’ll definitely consider purchasing these again in the future.

beautiful blue ink
Lovely blue ink. Flows nicely to the paper and dries quickly. Very little odor. The "extra-fine" tips lay down lines that are more than a half a millimeter thick on index cards. The tip quickly becomes a tiny bit mushy (but not hairy) long before the ink runs out. I love those initial crisp lines so I lose them on purpose after a month or two writing "To Do" lists and such.

An amazing pen for sketching and doodling
My favorite ballpoint for drawing is the Uniball Gel Impact 1.0mm, which has a great flow of ink and a nice bold line. As far as felt tips go, the Pentel Sign Pen is now my number one. I actually had a weird deja vu moment after I ordered these. I remember that I somehow acquired a blue one many years ago and which is now long lost, but I recall at the time loving the pen and not being able to find more of them. Anyway, this pen is a bit unique in that the nib is pretty long and has a nice taper to it. It's almost like a short, stiff brush pen. Don't misunderstand, there is no flex to the nib, but the length allows you to get fine lines with the tip and broad strokes with the side. Having that range is very nice. Also, the nibs are pretty substantial so they hold their shape well. I also like that this is a very compact pen, and very economical. It will fit in any pen case, or your pocket, so it travels easily. The ink flows well, so you don't get ragged lines, and they seem to last a good long time. This is one of those pens that is inspiring to use. It's such a simple design, nothing flashy at all, but it's so satisfying and functional in a unique way. This is a true "classic". Oh, and by the way, I don't know what it is, but I'm glad that I'm not the only "pen freak" in the world - which I've discovered from reading pen reviews on Amazon. I think it's the way that different pens feel and react with the page, so discovering a new pen is always a fun experience. (And is the reason why we have a drawer full of pens)

Just a warning to anyone looking to buy this: although it says 'box of 12', you are, in fact, only receiving one pen. Just a note so that you won't be disappointed like I was (although this now explains why it would have been so cheap for 12 pens).
