Tangkula 10 FT Patio Offset Umbrella with 360 Degree Rotation, Solar Powered LED Umbrella with Crank Handle & Cross Base, Outdoor Market Umbrella with Aluminum Pole

Looked at these cantilever style umbrellas for a while, after the umbrella we had broke at the tilt but doing my research I found a lot of people complained about them being blown over. It HAS to have a base, so if you buy one of these you HAVE to buy the base OR use something to hold it down, I used 4 8x16 2" pavers I had left over from when I redid my patio. This make is stable, I haven't had it open in huge winds (here in NY anyway) but nothing that would blow it away. Its either this or I pay another $100 for a base.The thing I like about this is it has 32 LEDs rather than the 24 as others have, its doesnt throw a huge amount of light but its a nice ambient light.It has a molded handle that clicks in to set its height, this is different to alot of the others people complain that the piece that sets the height cracks in two. Its thicker, because of that it can be a bit harder to click into place, but Im sure with use it will probably loosen up.The wife loves the red colour we (she) chose, the fabric is not sunbrella material but Ive sprayed it with 303 fabric spray to make the color last longer (patio is facing south) and make it more water repellant. Since we are in NY, I will bring it in for Winter fold it back up and store it til Spring so that SHOULD make it last longer.So in all after a few weeks so far so good

This review was edited to include the maker's refund. This is a beautiful umbrella. Relatively easy to put together. Can’t say it’s sturdy without a stand, since I purchased one when I punched this umbrella. It covered the area I wanted covered and the lights were so nice, especially at night. But what has been disappointing for me is that the string that draws open and closes the umbrella broke. What I mean is that the string must have somehow detached from the apparatus that controls opening and closing the umbrella. I’m so disappointed as I’ve only had it up for less than a week. I put it up for July 4th. On the 8th is when the string snapped. I only opened it one other time since the 4th and for this to happen is truly disappointing. I had just thrown away the box! But luckily for reviews! Once Tangkula found out the umbrella string had broken, they offered to refund my money, which I accepted. They also promised to improve this product. I am so thankful for their generosity and commitment to offer quality products!

I ordered and assembled this a year ago and used it a few times. On its first birthday, the umbrella (which was closed) fell from the plastic rod it was suspended by, severing the lighting cord in the process. There was no storm or strong winds. The plastic rod goes into a plastic sheath and it looks like there was a pin that went through corresponding 1/8th inch holes in the rod and sheath. You can see I have outlined this hole in white in the picture. We tried to put several appropriately shaped cotter pins and tiny brass rods through, to repair. We could not get anything all the way through to accomplish this repair, I'm really sad 😕 because I am having my first social gathering in a year outside, and we need shade. Also, I don't want to put this big object in the landfill after only a year of a small amount of use.

My original umbrella came in broke. I reached out to the seller and was immediately offered money back for my inconvenience. I ask for a replacement item instead. It was shipped right out and works beautifully. My yard looks nice

This umbrella is quite large and the solar lights are just great adding a little bit of romantic lighting. The assembly was pretty easy and only took about 15 minutes. Securing it in some way (buying a base, sand bags, bolting to a deck/patio) is absolutely necessary!The instructions could have been a little more clear in a few steps but overall weren't bad. My only complaint is that I wish the main pole went down into the base a little more. The base pole is probably 24 inches tall but yet the main pole only goes in about 4-5 inches. It's pretty sturdy but the umbrella does lean slightly when open. I think that would give the whole umbrella little more stability.

Absolutely love this umbrella. It looks great on our patio especially at night with the solar lights. We had an issue with the original umbrella that was sent to us, but the company took care of it right away and sent us a new one. This is a high quality umbrella and would definitely recommend. We did purchase an extra weighted base for this.

We purchased our umbrella on September 1, 2020. Less than 1 year of use (here in CA we used it until October, then put it away until April) and the string in the pulley system broke. We loved how large it was, and all the shade it provided. We were pretty careful with ours; put it down when it was windy, etc, and are very disappointed that it's now useless.IF you do purchase this product, get the Amazon warranty. Also purchase the weighted base; it can't be opened and used without it (unless you bolt it to your concrete or deck).

Update:I received excellent customer service and an acceptable solution. i am also going to purchase the base they show with the umbrella to steady it.It’s awkward and not sturdy and the material ripped within 2 weeks.

It kept swagging with the wind. It’s good for deck but not good for interlock with open space.
