My husband had fun putting this together
This is not for young children. It is intricate and complicated. Challenge which my hubby took and won!. My hubby is a PhD physicist with an engineering background. Turned out Great! Intricate but precise directions. Fun to turn it on with the battery motor.

Addicting
If you are looking for something to do during the current lockdown; something that will exercise your brain, the K’nex Architecture Series may be just the thing for you. The London Eye was my second purchase and build from this series of three. The first step was to separate and count the various pieces of which I had better luck than other reviewers as I was not missing any pieces and was giving extra pieces on some parts. After separating the build was on. No problems with this build as the step by step instructions were very clear. The only downside with the build has been the actual rotating of the wheel in that it rotates for a very brief second then stops. I have yet to determine if it is that the motor is weak or that it is hanging up for some other unknown reason.

London Eye is a Hard Pass
This is my first and (likely) only K'nex set purchase. I purchased the London Eye as a Christmas gift for my 8 year old son. We completed January 30, 2021, it would have taken us only four weeks but we thought we were missing a part that turned out to only be lost, (more on this later). I have built a lot of things, from Lego to Gundam model kits to Military Models and furniture, never have I experienced such loathing in my fingers and mind. The black and white instructions led us astray multiple times, resulting in the rebuilding of multiple sections multiple times. The base alone was rebuilt three times because of the inadequate presentation of the instruction manual. My fingers hated every second of it. The overwhelming majority of the 1861 pieces are tiny. As you attempt to press pieces together for the "satisfying click" the pieces press into your flesh turning model building into a contact sport that should never exist. Over and over again my son had to bow out because putting the pieces together hurt his hands. The click is not at all satisfying by the way. Even the larger pieces hurt your fingers and I work on cars! God I loathe this thing. As I mentioned earlier we thought we were missing a part. After turning the house upside down in a search for the part we reached out to K'nex. That was January 9th. Here we are January 30th with no reply from K'nex. Hoping that we merely misplaced the part we finally found it beneath our TV bench nowhere near where we were building. With the last piece locates we finished the build as quick as we could, which was still too long given the experience that is K’nex. Oh but the hits keep coming, the Eye cannot spin because the design causes the parts of the wheel to get stuck on the surface they ride on. This happens in both directions unfortunately and doesn't seem fixable without altering the physical shape of the pieces. So yeah there is no way I give K'nex another red cent. If my kid didn't like it so much I'd box it back up and return it to Amazon.

Impressive model
This is an impressive model but the pieces are smaller and thinner than usual, making it quite tricky to build. When dismantling one piece actually snapped. It also didn’t run as smoothly as I would have hoped.

Parts missing
Bought this as a Christmas present for my daughter, opened on Xmas day, assembled Xmas day night, after spending hours and hours assembling this with her and watching her getting increasingly excited to reap the benefits of her hard work we got to the last few pages only to discover there were parts missing!!! She was heartbroken, luckily a neighbours child also had k-Nex and gave her the missing parts!! Amazon! Sort out the contact seller option here and make it easier to do so! We were both very unhappy with this purchase
