A nice unit, works well, worth the cost.
It works as it should. It took some effort setting it up but by following the instructions you’ll get it done.

Excellent doorbell/camera
I think this doorbell and camera system is perfect for my purpose. It was very easy to install and set up. The picture quality is excellent. I'm very pleased that I chose Eufy.

Work fine…charging design flaw.
I bought these for my elder parents to make me feel better as well as help them not have to answer their door for just anyone and they can also just talk to people though the camera. They have been working great and I love that I also have access through my phone too. Took a bit to adjust the sensitivity and I have to adjust it based on the time of year and weather. The bright snow makes them pick up EVERY movement. Set up was easy. The biggest downfall(and why I only gave 4 stars) is the design to take them down to charge is HORRIBLE! I live out of town from my parents and they can not get the doorbell down to charge. It’s a tinny tiny wire(for the key) and a very fine opening on the bottom of the doorbell to insert the “key”. They have to have a neighbor come by if I’m not there and he gets very frustrated. It’s VERY HARD TO CHARGE THEM! Design needs addressed! I also frequently have to remove one of the doorbells and reinstall as it stops working at times.

A years experience with one clear winner!
I have never such an indebt review, but I spent a whole year going through doorbells. I will start from the beginning of my experience. I will list the 3 main doorbells I bought, Why I bought them, what I didn't like about them and why I returned them and the refund process. This is what I was looking for in a doorbell. Also, I learned through out the process what was more important for my needs. It needed to be Wireless for easy insulation. Good night vision. Good AI detection, a separate chime for indoor, remote monitoring, a long lasting battery, Elderly friendly & easy to use, and one of the most important needs were budget. I didn't want to spend a big amount on the doorbell, Then, spend money on a app, cloud subscription, separate chime, & Alexa. I was buying these for my grandparents. They do not understand having subscriptions for everything nowadays, but has to be easy to understand and use. EKEN wireless doorbell and Chime; Bought on February 13, 2023. The reasons I bought it were, said it was free and no subscription, indoor chime, and the price. After buying this one I really learned what was important and if things seem to good to be true they probably are, duh right. First off, the app is free to downloads but is not free after that. There is a monthly app fee and cloud storage free. Also, the app is a Chinese app. its complicating and not user friendly. I got notifications every time a car went by. it was annoying. I only could see the street. It didn't show any of my drive but the very end. Only worked with 2.4 Wi-Fi. You could only have one indoor chime connected and it was not loud enough. One of my most annoying facts about this doorbell was I had to charge it every week! I live in rural area and I couldn't imagine how soon I would have to charge living in the city. I returned EKEN on September 19, 2023 because it quit working. It would no longer connect to the internet or the chime. it was frozen for weeks. In the end I'm glad it gave out because it was really more of a nightmare and not free like they say! I paid $46 for this doorbell. Blink Wired/Wireless Doorbell; Bought on July 31, 2023. I really had high hopes for this one. This one was the most misleading, very vague information, and the hardest to get a refund on. This is not a wireless Doorbell. For it to really work with out an Alexa, google home or some kind of in home system you have to wire it. There is no indoor Chime. You are not told about Sync Module when buying. The app is free but cloud storage is not and you need locally storage with the Sync Module 2 and USB drive (each sold separately). I was not aware of this when I bought it. However, with out an Alexa I couldn't even get it set up and use it and get the local storage later. I thought we could use the app like every other doorbell but with out the Alexa you will get no notifications. It doesn't say when I returned it, but I remember them telling me after a non-pleasant- conversation to keep the product and we will refund you. If you are wondering... no, you can not take it home and hook it up to your Alexa. they disable it unfortunately , 😒🤣. I paid $60 for this. Eufy Security, Battery Video Doorbell C210 Kit, Wi-Fi Connectivity, 1080p, 120-Day Battery, No Subscription, AI Detection, Wireless Chime Included, 2-Way Audio, Remote Monitoring for Apartment Living; Bought on November 5, 2023. I waited till the doorbell died for the first time to write the review. after the first one it was really important to me for it to have a reasonable length in a battery! I charged it for the first time for a good amount of time. The first's charge is always the most important on any battery powered electronics. It died on 2/15/24. The battery lasted 100 days with moderately amount of use. I am very happy with it. It does not take long to charge back up either. I am not getting a notification every time a car goes by either. The AI in the doorbell works really well on telling me when someone is here or when there is activity. Great night vision. One of my Favorite is it came with a free angle piece! so I see my whole driveway and street. The house is a normal ranch house so the driveway is 'normally' placed 😂 none of the other doorbells came with a angle piece and the insulation looks great. There is a piece it snaps in-to, so, no thief can run off with it and protects it from water. Moreover, ITs free! The app is free and the chime is also a storage device! The chime is loud and has more then one chime. I did have to buy a memory card for the storage. In the reviews I read it said It has to be SanDisk 128GB Ultra microSDXC UHS-I Memory Card with Adapter - 120MB/s, C10, U1, Full HD, A1, Micro SD Card - SDSQUA4-128G-GN6MA. You can have a lower GB but nothing higher then 128GB. I have had no problems with it its just a basic memory card but works great with doorbell. I have had no problems with doorbell or local storage and chime. The app is super elderly friendly and easy to use. the company brags about being budget friendly. Eufy says, "No Subscription Required: Designed to protect your home as well as your wallet, Eufy security products are one-time purchases that combine security with convenience." I have no complaints with this product. I had to spend more money with this one but because I don't have to pay for a subscription, app fee, and cloud storage (storage is after the moment of doorbell going off being able to see it) I paid $99.99 with a $20 coupon. The memory card was $13.88. With doorbell and everything included, memory card, and coupon & tax; I paid $100.91. I Know this a long review, but if I could save someone a year of wasting time on doorbells I hope I can help!

I REALLY want to like it ... but
UPDATE 2: I now have to unplug and reconnect the chime daily to keep the doorbell working. Connectivity is horrible and the unit is offline almost constantly now. This product does not seem well designed from this aspect. UPDATE 1: As of 11/16/20, the video magically started working in Alexa. I don't know if the Alexa skill has been improved, but I was able to view live video a couple of times. However, this seems to come at a cost as connectivity has become even more of an issue. The chime is plugged into the same outlet as the router, and the doorbell is within 10' of it, yet it will not stay consistently connected. This effectively makes the live stream irrelevant if I can't connect to the doorbell. Bottom Line Up Front: I hate to start with the negative, but there are some fatal flaws in this design that make it almost useless for me. The first one I received was "Dead On Arrival", but Amazon shipped out a new one immediately and I had it 2 days later. As for doorbell specifics, see below: 1. There is no way to send the videos and recordings to a network storage center or download them all at one time. 2. You cannot view the camera live feed from within Alexa/Google Home. **This started working 11/16/20** 3. You have to remove the doorbell to charge it, and that takes about 6 hours, so no doorbell while charging. 4. The chime ONLY works with the doorbell, and not the floodlight cameras. Here is more more in depth information on what I see is wrong with this device: For starters, the fact that I cannot easily get all my videos at one time for off-line review without removing the Micro-SD card from the chime is a total failure. The chime is connected to my network, I should be able to download all the videos to either my PC or my Phone without removing the storage card. Continually inserting and removing the card causes excessive wear on both the card and the chime and could be easily avoided with a simple download option. Follow that with the fact that I cannot view the live stream in Alexa like you can with other Eufy security cameras (except the floodlight cam, which I will review separately) is a very poor decision and needs to be addressed. If I am in the kitchen, with my Echo Show, and my phone is upstairs when someone comes to the door, I can't just pull up the video feed on my Alexa device to see who is there. That leaves me 3 options, stop what I am doing to answer the door, stop what I am doing to go get my phone, or ignore it. None of these are an ideal solution if I am in the middle of something else. at least with live feed compatibility I could see and interact with my visitor without stopping what I am doing. My Ring doorbell was perfect for this, but the subscription was too costly to keep it. Next up, why the charging port is on the back of the camera in a location that REQUIRES removal to charge is beyond me. If you are not going to use easily replaceable/rechargeable batteries, then the charging port should be accessible without removing the entire doorbell. Perhaps putting it on the side or bottom of the device? That would allow the possible option of connecting to a solar panel, or a backup power-bank, or even running a cable to an outlet to charge it without losing your doorbell for 6 hours. A simple solution could be to provide a mounting plate that allows you to move the charging port so that you don't have to remove the doorbell for 6 hours. Finally, the chime is nice, and acts as a "mini homebase" but it ONLY works SPECIFICALLY with the doorbell it came with and will NOT allow me to integrate it with my Eufy floodlight cameras or any other Eufy cameras. I tried to setup my replacement doorbell with the first chime and it would NOT accept the doorbell as it is somehow tied to the one it is shipped with. I don't understand why, this makes no logical sense to me. If you have stayed with me this long, then here are the good points of this doorbell cam: The video quality is great, even at "only" 1080P like quality. I would say that it appears to rival my old Ring camera which was exceptional. The framerate it records at is lower though, so the videos can be a little choppy, but still very good. Responsiveness is fantastic. Notifications arrive quickly and the app loads up fast when trying to view visitors. This is MUCH faster than my old Ring video doorbell. Audio quality is also very good. One drawback here is that it only records one side of the conversation, but that is outweighed by the fact that it is a clear audio stream and not muffled and distorted like my Ring was. Connectivity is okay. I am calling this a positive because it doesn't disconnect as much as my Ring did, but it does still suffer from some connectivity issues. I suspect that this is because of the low power wifi signal used to connect to the chime. I know this is a battery conservation mechanism, but I wish there was an option in the configuration to use a higher powered signal to help keep it connected better. The chime is included. Despite my issues with the chime, the fact that it comes with the doorbell is a big bonus. I had to purchase the Ring chime separately for my old doorbell. I do wish it had more ringtone options, for example, my wife REALLY liked the "Westminster" chime of the Ring, but there is nothing close on the Eufy, and no option to "upload" chimes. Will I keep this doorbell? With no fees for recording, then I have to say yes, until I find something better. The reality is that a lot of the problems with this device simply boil down to poor design decisions that could be easily rectified if Eufy chooses to do so. However, until there are solutions to the problems, I will use it while I keep looking for a better option, then it will go in the trash. I will update this review if Eufy addresses any of the issues I see with this kit.

I wish Amazon had prompted me that I needed to buy an SD memory card for each unit
Just unpacked and started charging the doorbells, and I discovered that I need an SD card for each unit to store videos. Nothing on the page made it clear that a card was needed. Grrr. Update after a few months. These are great doorbells. I would not buy a doorbell with a monthly fee for cloud storage. That's just nuts, because I have plenty of storage in house. The secret to having the battery last longer is to choose Balance under Power settings. I had 2 so I set one to Optimal (the default) and one to Balanced. The one set to Optimal needed recharging after 2.5 months but the one set to Balanced still doesn't need charging and looks like it will last 4 months. I've only had to remove a doorbell once, but it's not that easy. I'm sure I'll get better at it after doing it a few more times, but still. They give you a paper clip like tool to insert in a tiny hole in the bottom. The tool pushes on a small release button inside the unit and you pull the doorbell away from the base at the bottom. I ended up having to get a chair to sit in to get low enough to perform the task. Perhaps you should mount these doorbells higher to make removing them easier. The quality of the videos is great and we've gotten zero false detections from animals or wind blown branches. I had to reformat the SD cards because when I was deleting old videos, they would not delete. It was a bit tricky finding the reformat option in the app, but it worked and the problem has not returned. I do wish I could pause motion detection for less than 30 minutes because I would like to disable it when I'm leaving and not have to re-enable it when I've left the driveway. Same applies for arriving home. Update 6/8/23: At the end of the day, I select "all" videos and choose delete. The screen says there are no events for the day, but I discovered that it's lying. You have to either refresh the screen (drag down from top and release on Android), or leave that screen and return to it, and then more videos will appear. You have to repeat this process until there really are no more videos. I wish Eufy would either auto-refresh the screen to show the additional videos, or (preferably) give me an option to actually select ALL of the videos for that day (to save time). Bonus tip: bend the doorbell release tool to close to 90 degrees so it's easier to both hold and to release the unit from the mount. The doorbell is right up against the door frame and bending the tool allows you to better hold the tool without your fingers hitting the wall. I drop things frequently and was afraid I would lose the tool between the house and the steps (mine are not attached to the house).

WAY OVERPRICED considering what's advertised vs the reality of what you get...
UPDATE1/29: So, I've been in contact with Eufy's CS team, and say what I will did about the device, they really stand behind their products. Since my earlier review they've sent me a motion sensor to help make up for the lack or AI enabled people detection functionality I can use to trigger Alexa routines. As I mentioned to their CS rep, while the PIR sensor helps me kind of do what it is that I want to do with the video doorbell (in a band-aid fix kind of way), it does not substitute the fidelity that inbuilt AI powered people detection would help avoid (ala false positive alarm triggers, like my porch's sun shade has triggered on a breezy night). Beyond that, I still really need/desire the ability to use this doorbell's promoted AI powered detection to trigger automations that use other manufacturer's devices I already own via hub devices (ie: Amazon's Echo and Google Home) and routines for this doorbell to fully meet my needs. Also, as I explained to the CS, the reason I need the alarm to play at night TBW is to scare away potential burglars or thieves, unfortunately ATM the only thing it'll currently does is wake up my sleeping newborn (as they only play via the indoor mounted chime)... Again the inability to designate where alarms play (on the camera vs the chime) has made it impossible for me to enable this specific feature in MY home (motion sensor or not), as it's already gone off once on accident (when I stepped outside after it armed itself, and it woke up the house, understandably REALLY pissing off my wife in the process). All in all, to be of real use to me, this video doorbell really needs to integrate the features I outlined above. After talking numerous times to their CS I hope future app updates integrate some of my requested features. Either way, as mentioned, say what I will about the product as it stands now, they stand behind it 100%, and worked really hard to make me happy. With that said I'm keeping it, and crossing my fingers their team takes my criticism to heart, and tries to fix the issues/add the features I've requested! And for that I'm raising my score from 2 to 3 stars, and pulling for you! ORIGINAL REVIEW: It's such a shame too, because I had REALLY HIGH HOPES for this video doorbell after performing tons of research and watching multiple reviews online before buying it. As a renter and budget minded home automation enthusiasts this device's: Google+Alexa integration, wireless basestation (with inbuilt microSD card slot), battery and locally powered AI detection features totally had me sold on it (as I HATE being forced to pay a monthly fee for storage and things like people detection). Alas, after a day and a half with it, I'm sad to report it does not live up to the hype IMHO. Let me explain below... Some background as it relates to my automation setup at home, experience with the IOT smart home, and intended use for this doorbell: I'm very budget minded, and do ALOT of research before adding any new equipment to my home automation setup. Until recently, I only used Google Assistant (ie: smart speakers, a smart screen and Chromecasts) and Wyze (ie: cameras, smart bulbs, plugs and sensors) devices in my home. After we had an incident in our neighborhood in early December I decided it was time to get a video doorbell, and started doing research on existing video doorbells. Now, before I bought this device I decided to give Amazon and it's Echo line a try to see what they offered in the form home automation (something Google sadly lacks IMHO). So I bought a $10 Echo Flex just after the holidays from Amazon, plugged it into an outlet with the express intent of using it to only drive home automations between devices I already own from various manufacturers, and started making routines. I have to say, the short week owning my Echo Flex has been a revelatory, and has really opened up my eyes to how lacking Google and it's closed ecosystem is! Excited by the things I'm now able to accomplish with only a $10 Echo Flex (that plugs directly into a wall outlet) and the existing gear I already own (like making the Echo I just bought play a message/chime whenever a Wyze Contact Sensor is opened/closed) I started looking for an open video doorbell that integrates with both my Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa home setups, that also allows users to create routines... After watching tons of videos and reading tons of online reviews I settled on this Eufy video doorbell. While it works mostly as advertised, it cannot trigger Alexa Routines using their much touted AI events (ie: people, animal or motion detection. ATM it only allows doorbell activations to trigger Alexa routines, WTF?!!...). For the record my $20 Wyze Cam 3 allows me to use people detection and motion events to trigger Alexa routines, while my $25 Wyze Cam Pan also allows me (without paying monthly fees through Wyze's IFTTT applet, BTW WTF doesn't Eufy have an IFTTT applet?!?) to trigger routines (like say a porch light turning on when triggered)... This is a servere oversight on Eufy's part, and totally unacceptable from a device that costs over 4X more than Wyze's own $30 video doorbell offering which I know can do the same (too bad it lacks a battery and is currently unavailable for purchase from Wyze's website as of writing this)... Further making matters worse, their's no way to remotely trigger an audio alarm on the camera's speaker if motion is detected. I mean sure it'll play an alarm on the wireless chime/basestation, but what if I only want it to play on the camera to scare away potential burglars or trespassers, so it doesn't wake my newborn?... Again, totally unacceptable from a $140 device that touts it's inbuilt features and no need to pay a monthly fee like it's competitors (in this instance Wyze)... All in all, if like me you need a video doorbell, are a renter and budget minded, but expect nice cross platform play with both Google and (more importantly) Alexa Routines then look elsewhere. At $140 Eufy really needs to up it's game and give users more. Lastly if Eufy is going to play the "open and nonsubscription card", then they really need to put in some effort into making it easier for consumers like me to use these features as advertised to make my home more secure using my existing home automation gear. Anywho, this is all to say, if you're in a similar boat as me, then wait for the existing Wyze doorbell to come back into stock, buy it + pay for a years worth of service (at $20), and take the remaining $90 you would have spent on Eufy's doorbell to buy a bunch of other stuff that you may need for your smart home from companies that really do practice openness (like Wyze or Amazon); or better yet wait for Wyze's forthcoming and recently announced battery powered video doorbell! You can thank me later. As for me? I'm going to keep this doorbell for another week or so to see if they update the software to address my concerns before returning it for the aforementioned Wyze video doorbell I hope to get in February when they're back in stock (that I'll power using a plug in power transformer from Amazon that I just found). 🤷 Anywho, in summary Eufy promised a lion, and delivered a house cat with this doorbell. Shame on you Eufy, you shouldn't advertise the features and functions you do if you're not going to fully support them in any meaningful or useful ways this late in the home automation and security game (at this point these spaces are very mature, highly competitive, and that's without getting into the fact that user's expectations have significantly changed and increased over the last 2 years from an interoprability perspective). Tisk tisk...

So far, pretty good.
I installed it a couple of days ago, and it was a breeze to get it going. Fully charged in a short time and I was able to get it up and running in about 20 minutes after charging. Installation is a breeze. You charge the receiver and door bell, then connect the receiver to the wifi, and install the doorbell. It was easy for me to drill the holes and get the base screwed in, and snap in the doorbell. Next came testing - the video quality is really pretty good - no complaints there. Even at night the video is very clear! My only complaint would be the audio - but for me, it wasn't a deal breaker. The audio is really too low on the outside for "live" audio unless you yell, but the recordings are loud and clear. So I am getting around that by creating prerecorded messages I can use - instead of just talking. I even made one that says "Ok, thank you. We will be there in just a minute" - so they know we are coming out. Most of our "visitors" are Amazon, grocery and food deliveries since we don't have friends or family in the area. It is nice though now to be able to see who is coming up the stairs onto the porch, so if it isn't someone we know, I can decide what to do, or not! :) Plus the standard bell for the house is for both the front and back of the house. This way I at least know which way to head because no matter where they are, I will, inevitably, go in the wrong direction. Also, I like being able to to go the live audio and take a look outside if I hear a noise on the porch. At least that way I know if it is human, or that darn possum (or other wildlife) that it hanging around! All in all, I am very pleased with it. The live audio could be better, but I can live without it. I can always yell if need be! And for the money, you really can't beat it! *The images are just screenshots I emailed from my phone. They look better in person.

Great value when you consider no subscription
We purchased this doorbell specifically because it didn’t need to be wired to previous doorbell and because there were no subscription fees. It took a little while to get it working properly to record but that was due to a faulty SD card and to no fault of the camera itself. I love that you can see the events and that you don’t have to pay a monthly fee to do so. Picture quality is great and the app is quite user friendly. The only thing that could improve on our end is the motion detection being quicker. We have ours aimed down our stairs and the motion detection set to high but if a delivery driver is super quick to drop off a package, the camera misses the event. This may be solve-able if we were to move the camera to another location but we have it covering the hole in our house from our old doorbell so we prefer not to move it. Otherwise, it’s a great camera. Battery life doesn’t last quite as long as we had hoped but it’s chargeable and super easy to do so has caused us no issues.

The best smart door bell for most people
This door bell is super easy to install. The quality is great and really modernized the look of my house. The battery is great except it drained quick when i first got it because was playing with it do much. The video (1080) and sound quality is also top notch. I like that they have versions at different price points. Best of all, no subscription and your data is stored locally. Needs better integration with google home but that is more of a nice to have feature and the company was very responsive to this feedback. Overall i highly recommended.
