Just to clarify - for new kettle buyers - the brown spots are NOT rust.
I've owned this kettle for over 2 years. It gets used daily. I keep it in my bathroom actually and I make gong fu tea on my tea tray on my dresser. So, for any new people looking for a kettle, I thought I would clarify something. The brown spots on the bottom of the kettle are NOT rust. It's tea stains from making tea in the kettle. I'm clarifying this because, when I spent 4 months researching an electric kettle to buy, I would see these reviews often enough that it scared me off. I know better now. No matter what kettle you buy (and depending on how hard your water is) you're going to get marks on the bottom of the kettle, no matter what. I just clean mine out with vinegar water. If the staining is particularly bad, one application of vinegar is probably not going to be enough. I have mugs I use daily for tea, and the tea staining happens after one cup. My mugs are green inside, so it doesn't look as bad, but when I wait too long to clean the tea stains out, I can spend 10 minutes scrubbing one mug with my fingernails and a toothbrush and the tea stains still aren't gone. Now for a review on the kettle itself. The gripes are first. It lets you know, VERY often, that it's keeping your water warm. It beeps quite frequently. If this bothers you, there is no way I know of to turn it off. The only other gripe I have about this kettle is that it boils the water PRETTY vigorously. Thank god for the 195 degree setting. I mostly drink Oolong tea, which brews at 195 a lot but when I need it hotter, I select 195, and then hit boil after thats done and wait til a small rolling boil and turn it off. It might only be a problem I have because of the altitude I live in. Boiling point is lower here, so it might try to boil harder to reach the kettles pre-programmed boiling point.Other than that, I can't think of any complaints. I purchased this kettle for the temp control, and for the way the lid and filter insert come together. If you DO in fact use the tea filter insert, it's extremely convenient to remove after the tea is brewed. Some kettles you have to take off the entire lid to remove the tea filter part. But that's not fun to do with a boiling hot lid, filter, and wet dripping tea inside. Even though I bought it for the filter/lid design, I don't use the filter anymore. I upgraded to brewing loose leaf tea, gong fu style (eastern style which is shorter multiple brews). But removing the filter is easy enough and the kettle functions exactly the same. My kettle is pretty much looks the same as when I bought it. When you start developing deposits on the bottom of your kettle (which you will get no matter what kettle you buy, just repeating myself again), just clean it out with white vinegar. If it's bad, it will probably need several vinegar cleanings.

A Good Pot
This one is easy to use, easy to clean, and easy to remove the tea basket to prevent over steeping.I tried two other pots - sent both back. Both had issues - one was difficult to clean and getting the tea basket in and out of the pot was not the best, the other you had to take the lid off to remove the tea basket from the lid - and you absolutely needed protection to not get burned. The Mr Coffee Tea Maker is thoughtfully engineered, easy to use, easy to clean. For me it will be a keeper. Don't waste your time on any others - this one fits the bill.American company, though sadly made in China - hence 4 stars not 5.

Love this Kettle
I have been using this tea kettle everyday for about a month. I have been very happy with this purchase!Pros:-Very easy to use.-Heats water quickly.-Keeps tea warm for 60 minutes, boiling water warm for 30 minutes.-Beeps when water has reached the desired temperature, beeps when steeping is done, & beeps wlhen you turn it off. Some have complained about the beeps but I really like this feature. I find the beeps helpful and not annoying at all.-I did hours of research before I purchased this kettle. This is one of the few that does not have plastic that comes into contact with the water. There is some plastic on the outside of the lid but the water does not touch this. The inside of the lid is metal.-The tea I have made has a wonderful flavor. I love the fine mesh infuser. It keeps all the tea leaves inside so no need to strain the tea before drinking it. I empty the infuser as soon as I take it out of the kettle and then rinse the remaining tea leaves out.Cons:-The bottom of the kettle is metal. I have tea stains and mineral deposits on this metal after each use. I clean all of the tea stains and some of the mineral deposits off after each use by using some baking soda and a wash cloth. All of the mineral deposits can be removed by using equal parts water and vinegar and let it sit overnight. I do this once a week. Looks like new again!

Keep it warm just a bit longer, please?
It was easy to wash up to use. It was very easy to use and make 40 oz. of camomile tea. I was working on reviews and drinking tea for several hours. But the KEEP HOT function only remains hot for one hour. It shut off after one hour but I continued drinking the warm tea. It's too bad it doesn't stay on longer. Maybe I should try pushing the button to see if it turns back on for another hour? Next time. But I was very pleased with having a whole pot of my tea to drink while working. And it doesn't take up much space, just the space of the pot base, about a 7" circle.

Love this Kettle
This is my favorite pandemic purchase. I was concerned about some of the reviews but took a chance. So happy I did, I feel the pros far outweigh the cons.Pros:Heats quickly and accurately.Love the convenience of steeping in the pot.The marks on the bottom interior of the pot that come with use, shown in many review pictures, are very easy to clean off with a sponge.I don’t find the infuser basket at all difficult to clean as some mentioned.Looks great and doesn’t take up too much counter space.Pot not too heavy, but definitely sturdy.Cons:The controls are a little clunky and involve a lot of beeping. The automatic steep times are much too short.

Wonderful electric kettle
I have only had this for several weeks but so far I am impressed. This is easy to clean and use. I love the fact that there are temperature settings for all the different types of tea. It is wonderful to not have my light green and white teas are overdone anymore. I also enjoy the keep warm feature since I often forget I have my tea going.

Does a great job. Brews very hot (boiling) tea, then keeps it warm.
My only issue was with the price....very costly....but if it lasts a long time it will have been worth every dollar.
