Been working well
Been a little champ. 400 watts of light is inflated imo. Still it's been a good light. Solar panel is mounted 90 degrees at the moment, too busy to set it at 45 degrees. It struggled in the winter to make it till morning due to less sunlight and probably the cold so I set it to dim always at dusk unless motion. Can't recommend using solar panel mount that comes with it for the tube mount if you live in a windy area. I think it's too flimsy, at least without some kind of bracing. I used some slotted angle iron to mount it on a out building. I believe it's lasted 2 winters now, not sure...

Big, bright and long lasting
It took me a while to get this all set up and mounted. First things first... this light is BIG (and so is the solar panel) so be prepared. I got this to light up the area around the one mailbox for all the houses on our street. There's no power nearby and the previous solar powered light we installed was fairly pathetic. This light is mounted on the side of a palm tree with the solar panel on the opposite side where it gets southern sun exposure. The light easily illuminates the area and the motion detector mode works flawlessly. Even in winter (I'm in San Diego so "winter") it gets plenty of charge during the day. Everyone on the street is pleased with how this worked out and the price. Setup was really easy as well.

A great light with a remote and options for different settings.
The media could not be loaded. I purchased this light back in mid December. It's mounted on my house over the driveway approximately 16’ in the air. It really is a job for two people if it's going to be mounted high in the air. But I somehow managed to get it done by myself. Since it has been installed, I used it infrequently and not that many hours per day with no issue- or so I thought. Over the course of several weeks, I noticed that the light wasn't charging and appeared to become increasingly dim over time. So I contacted Niorsun customer service about it. They responded within 24 hours. Crystal in customer service, and the engineering team requested that I check to make sure that the light was properly plugged in and that the solar panel was receiving proper light. I informed them that in both cases, it was. They requested a short video of the light in action to troubleshoot the problem. It was then verified by the Niorsun team that the light in fact, was not charging properly for an unspecified reason. I was promptly informed that a replacement light would be sent out immediately. I received the replacement light, verified that it was charging and made sure that it worked before I mounted it on the house. It's been up and working flawlessly for over a month. I love this light! If I had a need for another one, I wouldn't hesitate to make the purchase. I usually use it in motion mode, dusk to dawn, 5-6 nights a week here in the Pacific Northwest. It is so bright! It will be interesting to see this winter how well it holds up in the cloudy, rainy, weather. It comes with one remote that allows for different types of light settings. The fact that Niorsun stands by their product with excellent customer service makes this light a 10- star deal, but unfortunately I can only give 5 stars. Well done Niorsun- well done!

The Good, the Bad and the Mind Boggling...
Pros: This light is bright and has nice features. The remote has limited range but since I only out my light up 16 feet, it works fine. The solar panel is very large and the nice charging LEDs indicate charging even before the sun actually hits the panel under bright ambient light. The motion sensor is excellent and extends widely so that it picks up motion 20-30 feet away. The half light is considerably dimmer than the bright setting, but still effective in illuminating an area so one can see what is going on.Cons: The mounting system is poorly designed and not built to last, IMO. The bracket that supports the solar panel does not stand tall enough to tilt the solar panel at a useful angle, so it is barely down from aiming vertical before it hits the light. Also the mount for the light boom is a thin sheet metal that collapses as it is tightened and looks too weak fir windy applications or places where ice might form. I separated the solar bracket completely and mounted it on a flat aluminum plate and bolted it to the pole using two stron U-Bolts. This allows it to be separated enough to tilt the solar panel down to about a 45 degree angle with the horizon and rotated so that it faces south. I also redesigned the light mount by just cutting it off and bolting it to a Satellite antenna mount cutoff to the right length. This satellite mount can be mounted with a couple of UBolts below the solar panel and rotated to any desired direction.Finally- for some strange reason-this company made the power leads between the solar panel and light unit only about 24-30 inches total and this limits the spacing between the solar panel and the light. If they had just made it 4 feet long, it would have been sufficient. Bottom line- this light is excellent where it is good and in the details like mounting- somebody stopped the excellent design process cold and opted for shoddy mounts with no flexibility in installation. Frankly, most lights are far worse than this one, though, so for people with some mechanical skills, I strongly recommend it, because-with all it’s faults, it is among the best out there.BTW- Full disclosure- I have been an inventor and design engineer for 40+ years and it is my nature to analyze and critique my own work and that extends into designs I encounter.
