These are high quality bits that work well. ...If you're buying this 2.5 mm bit for use with the Blum Tandem Plus drawer slide installation jig (like I was), be aware that this particular bit happens to be a little too long to be fully compatible with it. Specifically, even seated as deeply as possible, the drill tip will project a few mils more beyond the (non adjustable) stop shoulder than specified for the jig, meaning it will poke through drawer boxes made from 1/2 inch stock if driven in to the stop. The solution is just to hold up a few mils short of bottoming out --the depth of the hole isn't that critical anyway. I had no trouble observing this precaution on the small number of drawers on my project, but can imagine someone faced with making hundred of holes be better off locating a shorter bit.

Very fast delivery. These are nowhere near as brittle as the carbide ones I bought at Megalomart, which can snap like twigs. These are better for my application which is drilling through very hard little decorative seeds for lei making. These last at least twice as long, closer to three, are less likely to snap, and are in fact, 'Murican! The review that states that these snap may not know that for metal, one should drill slowly and use oil. I used to have a metal shop and that is what I would recommend, anyhow. Metal/slow, wood/fast, si o no?

Good quality drill bits that do what they are supposed to do. They last for a long time as long as you treat them right. Make sure to drill at the correct speed for the material drilling into to and use a cutting fluid if needed.

The product, 2.5 mm drill bits from Mechanics Tools and Bits, was as advertised. But for $0.99 shipping and handling the service was unexpected. It was sent out via 1st class mail the day it was ordered, and it was received the next day. Sure beats getting in the car, going to five stores and finding out the item is not available locally. Next time I need metric bits, this is the first place I'll try!

my bits measured 2.486-2.489mm. i was going to give these 3 stars for closeness until i went back and did a more thorough investigation the next day: i set my digital micrometer for inches and found them to be 0.0978-0.0979" - which is a #40 (0.0980") drill bit most of us probably already have. i imagine for 99% of uses, this is good enough. but for the other 1% of projects where we need a closer tolerance for a precision slip fit, these are 0.01mm too small.

They make the perfect sized holes. I used them to make the gas valve larger on my gas grill when I converted it from propane to natural gas.
