Learning more about the black scapular as it is called the Seven sorrows of Mary
I had not ever heard of the Black scapular until receiving a five way scapular, in it are one of red, one of brown, one black, one blue and one white. Also on the woolen cords are a St. Benedict meadel and aChrist on the cross. The history of each and how the prayers are said morning and again at night. The seven sorrows are named one at each of the SevenPrayer divisions each containing seven beads (I use my Fatima rosary) count off three beads and at the end add two additional sets of seven and an our Father bead goes between each set. The book sets the tone for contemplation as each set is announced. The book as written has touched my very core, my being. Any Catholic that has ever perused the wearing of a scapular will enjoy this book, those of other churches may learn more of what we as Catholics believe and what deep meaning this has for the church's family. God bless you in your journey.

Better Understanding
As a Catholic I have been lacking some of the critical understandings of prayer. I needed more clarity of The Seven Sorrows of Mary and this book helped immensely. The book combines Scripture and Mary's experiences and connects them to our own tribulations.I'm a firm believer in Jesus and his purpose. I struggled with the way he was persecuted and ultimately crucified. Mary's faith in God and her sorrows let one know that sometimes we will go through painful events in our life. If we are strong in faith as Mary was we will be alright.

Great for meditation but no starting or conclusion prayers
This book contains each of the swords of sorrow but it doesn’t guide you how to pray the chaplet nor does it contain the starting or concluding prayers. Great for the meditation not for for starting or concluding the exercise.

Mary's love
This is a book that should be read. It makes you realize Mary's love for us. And what she had to endure.
