Great quality for the money!
Haven't really had a problem with this. I love the fact that it has both white umbrella's and black ones. I use the white ones for my girls, and the black ones for the guys. To have this option is very nice. The power of the lights are not that of what you can get out of a speedlite - but, even if i were to move to a speedlite instead of these lights, i can still use the stands for other things - and even maybe introduce some additional light into the background to help set the subject apart from the scene. The lights do need to be placed close to the subject - maybe 1 - 1 1/2 feet away from their face. White umbrella's, i point at the subject (light shining thru the umbrella) and this seems to give off a very nice and soft light (tis why i save it for the girls)Not all that great for large shoots - but i've used it before for a family of 3 & a family of 4. Haven't done anything bigger yet due to the closeness of the lights to the subjects.Cord length is a problem if you don't have plugs all around your house. I do, so it's not a problem for me. I also keep a 3 plug outlet from one outlet plug with me so i can plug all three lights in off of one plug if there is only one that's close by... cord length starts to matter then.Carrying case is a little on the cheap side - but i didn't get this for a carrying case... i've setup this light setup and put it away a total of 15 times now - and the points of ware are... the zippers bend really easy - so be gentle pulling on them, as the zipper tab/puller likes to form into a curve into the direction you pull it. The case material is of nylon-ish material - and not easily puncturable - so that's nice. Not heavy grade. I don't plan on using this for any heavy duty equipment though, so this is ok.Would i get this over a speedlite? I only do pictures vs. video - so probably would go with a speedlite (Yongnuo YN660). Setup time takes roughly 6 minutes for me from case to finished process. Speedlite is nearly instant. Subjects get a little warm sitting in front of 3 lights that are pointed at or near them. Both a speedlite and/or this umbrella setup gives me a professional look where i get more respect as a photographer - and more willing participants. Clients don't see "Cheap" when looking at the setup. They don't see "Pricey" either - but it's a nice look - both in professionalism and the photo's it turns out.

Great Value.
I've owned this and used this for over a year now. Works great. Not as bright as the new LED ones, but it works great for using flourescent bulbs.

You'd better change the bulbs
A good product kit, including all things a photography studio needs, affordable and easy to assemble and operate. But when I assembled them I found a problem, the lamps lighted up everything, no matter your walls, your ceiling, your floor, your modal and the background. This is too bad for a photographer, who always only needs the lamps illuminate where he needs, not everything.I thought it over and over and found the solution finally. I replace the lamp came with the kit with a floor bulb, which is more than 100W equivalent lumens, the light only goes out from the head, and it can focus forward. Then I found everything is OK, I can control the light and easy to shoot. But if you want to do so, you must know that the floor bulb's diameter must be less than 4 inches, or you can't install the umbrella. And the bulb should have a silver or any other non-transparent neck, so no beam will affect your shooting. Buy the way, I strongly recommend sellers provide photography bulbs, not present bulbs. It should be better for both sellers and buyers.

Great starting kit, great customer service
I was absolutely thrilled when I received this ...it was an extremely easy set up. I felt that the material was durable and decent quality, especially for the price! The only thing I did not like is that the lamp holders the piece that you screw end to tighten the umbrella once its holding in the lamp holder ...but it is made out of plastic and is easy to strip and wear over time, and one of my lamp holders was stripped on the screw for the umbrella and wouldnt hold it in place... but I reached out to customer service and they right away to care of the problem and sent me to new 2 lamp holders free of charge to replace my 1 bad lamp holder within a matter of a few days... I am a serious hobbyist and not a professional by any means but for a starting set this was a great addition to my new cannon camera and I was able to manipulate the lighting....i set up a little photo shoot for xmas and was able to take some really nice family photos...I am content with the brightness of the bulbs and I love how it comes with a carrying case to put it all in for easy transportation .....over all my experience was very positive and I would totally recommend this to anybody starting out wanting to take their photography to the next level, especially with such great customer service from the sellerI attached one of the photos from my family xmas shoot to show how the lighting kit really made a huge difference to the photo
