They were crumbeled in the packaging, threw it out, mqybe old/stale. Not useful.
Not useful, in crumbs in packageing Threw them out. Use for breakfast instead of bread or coffee cake Put jelly on them. Toasted, not as tooth or gum abrasive as English muffins can be when toasted. Decent flavor, mild soft type of flat muffins, already split which is a benefit.

very disappointed in these
Crumpets are one of my favorite breakfast treats. I was accustomed to getting delicious crumpets from a store that requires a bit of a trip. I thought I would try these, as ordering them from Amazon would be easier - These are no where near the quality of the ones I'm used to getting from Trader Joe's - These were thin, gummy, and pretty tasteless. I won't be buying them again... even butter and jam didn't help disguise the poor quality of these Duffy's crumpets... too bad.

Better packaging needed
The product is great. This is the second time I have ordered this product from Amazon. The first time this product was completely in edible. It was delivered to me in a plastic bag and the crumpets were completely demolished. You could not toast them. The second lot I just received they’re OK but just warning you alerting you I should say to the fact that these need to come in a box, not a bag you put things on top and they get crushed.

Just what they are supposed to be
Crumpets, by their very nature...at least here in the U.S....can be very bland. We here in the U.S. naturally expect everything to be “tasty.” Loaded with sugar. If the Brits saw what we turn out as “scones” here, they would probably be appalled....almost always smothered in sugar crystals. If you’re looking for that kind of thing, pass this up. I’ve eaten crumpets for years, used to get some good cinnamon ones at Trader Joe’s. But haven’t seen them in some time. I bought these years ago, before TJ was even around. They are light and fluffy, fresh. Great if you’re on a diet, too! Very low in sugar, but a bit high in sodium, which is not unusual; it’s gotta be one or the other or we wouldn’t want to eat a product. I toast them, put some Brummel & Brown yogurt-based spread on them and sprinkle cinnamon on. Or use peanut butter. Just fine. I just wish they didn’t cost so much. I decided to splurge, tho, and get them anyway.

Wonderful
Just toast them up to a golden brown and let the butter, jam, honey or anything else just melt into the holes. The real thing. Nothing better that a nice cuppa and a crumpet. HOWEVER, I am going to add that that they are not consistently good. My last order wa kept in the freezer awaiting my English Tea Party. imagine my disappointment when I thawed them only to find a stale smell and many were too dried out to be as good as they are usually. Obviously they do not take well to storage and the manufacture needs to only ship vet fresh batches.

Crumpet not Muffin
A crumpet has a different look and taste than an English muffin. It is equally popular in England, less familiar here. Toast a crumpet on one side, add butter and, if desired, jam. You may like it better than a crisp muffin.
