Solos for Young Violists, Vol 3: Selections from the Viola Repertoire Audio CD – Audiobook, March 1, 2003

I play duets with a violinist who recently acquired a viola, and she found this series for us. Get these! Get them all! The arrangements are spectacular, the music is exquisite, and these CDs make the trickier pieces (Vaughan-Williams arrangement of Greensleeves, for example) easier to tackle and execute well.

Excellent grouping of more difficult viola pieces for the intermediate to advanced soloist with piano accompaniment. A strong compliment to equally excellent volumes 1 & 2 which progressively presented less difficult selections at a lower intermediate level. Most can be played in first position but alternate higher position fingering is also shown and is required in some pieces. Adult or youthful intermediate violists will be pleased.

In questo volume e negli altri 4 sono contenuti brani molto interessanti, di difficoltà crescente, adattissimi per saggi ma anche come bis per concerti. La parte pianistica è molto ricca. Molto ben fatti.
