Unlike other slicers I've used, this one has the different blades all contained in the slicer. All you have to do is turn a knob to change the type of blade of thickness of the slice. No more blades in the drawer waiting for an unsuspecting hand to slice!

Box came a little beatup but everything looks good inside.UPDATE:This bad boy is SHARP! You should definitely wear the gloves for EVERY USE!This will cut you to the white meat if you dont!Be extra careful cleaning this as well. Ise a sponge and hard running water. The less you stroke the better.Make sure you dont make the same mistake I did and slice the handheld slicer in the wrong direction. As you can see from the pictures, I was literally slicing the guards from the sides.

This is my second mandolin. The first was a simpler one, but the dialer for the slicer quit working. I like this one better because it has feet, so the blades sit above the counter. It IS non-slip.

Overall this has been the best mandeline I have bought so far. It is easy to use and is pretty sturdy. I do wish the metal wasnt so thin and made with a higher quality for the price. I don't see this causing any dangerous issues, just feels cheap compared to the price. However, the blade itself is very sharp and has been able to handle hard vegetables including carrots. Still wayyyy better than the stupid hand held plastic ones.

I have tried several mandolines but never liked to switch blades. This slicer is great because it uses one easily adjustable blade and all optional attachments are also built in so you don't need to change for different slices such as julienne. It also comes with a pair of protective gloves, just a nice added touch. The price was also nice. I recommend this slicer.

I really like this mandolin, easy to use, easy to clean, adjustable cutting thickness which is very useful, and the julienne and French fry cutters work well. Two kvetches, first, the ratchet that sets the cutting thickness isn’t strong enough to hold it in place, and it tends to drift to thicker slices as you slice something like an apple. Second, the gloves that ship with it are size medium. In my opinion protective gloves are essential for using a tool like this. If you have large hands typical of an American male, plan on ordering a set of size large protective gloves. By the way, essentially the same mandolin appears to be available on Amazon without the gloves for less money so may be better to buy the gloves and mandolin separately. I would encourage this vendor to offer a size selection on the gloves. Amazon needs to strongly encourage the purchase of protective gloves for any of these mandolins. The food holder that comes with many of them doesn’t work well, and it’s very easy to slice your hands if you’re not wearing good gloves

I really dislike having to slice potatoes so I can fry them, or make Au gratin. This mandolins was just awesome to use for that. It's strong enough that it doesn't bend or collapse while slicing. The food slides down easily and the blade is extremely sharp.Definitely use the gloves that come with it, or you might lose part of your fingertip. I love that you can adjust the thickness of the cuts from see through to a more hearty slice.The piece used for pushing the veges through is amazing also as it allows you to get the entire piece sliced. No more chunks left over like your get with others. Would I buy this again definitely.

I love this mandolin slicer - it is made with high quality stainless steel. It was easy to make super paper thin chips from a sweet potato, which are usually very hard to cut with a knife. I air fried the chips and they turned out amazing and crispy. Much better than store bought chips. I am excited to make fries and cut/slice different kinds of fruits and veggies for all sorts of recipes!
