Good read with good advice
I loved almost everything about this book; great advice and action applications. I hope to see a sequel on how to ‘break busy’ as a working mom when your husband is not the primary caregiver of your children. So many moms are going crazy today trying to play the biblical roles of wife, homemaker, mother as well as being responsible for significantly contributing to the financial well being of a family. It would also be nice to hear the authors perspective on the benefit of her husband being the primary caregiver in the lives of their 5 boys. This movement of women being the primary providers is necessary in so many homes today yet is in conflict with biblical principles. I loved the book but don’t feel it was complete. Part II please!

It's Time to Break Busy
“Crazy busy is a life without peace. It’s marked by decisions made for the approval of the world, not the approval of God. It’s filled with what we think we “should” do, what we think will make others happy, and what we think being a good person looks like. All this busyness, in the end, keeps us just out of reach of the life we were created to live.”“Breaking busy is about more than identifying the things in our life that suck the life out of us. We must also identify what gives us life, what recharges us and restores our capacity.”“If we are going to start breaking busy, we start with focusing in on the relationships that fill our souls.”“Our lives have gotten so cluttered up with things we think we “should” do, we can’t figure out what we were meant to do. Let your life be about what you are meant to do, not full of what you think you should do. This starts with your daily decisions about how you spend your time.”These are three of the many many quotes I’ve underlined in Alli Worthington’s Breaking Busy. This is a book that I have found college students, mom’s of littles, mom’s with teens and empty nesters all gravitate to. It should come as no surprise that any stage of life has seasons of feeling overwhelmed and above capacity within it.Breaking Busy addresses extensively the different areas of our lives we tend to fill up with busyness. Relationships, Traditions, Calling, Thoughts and many other subjects are written about in matter of fact statements that had me nodding my head, tearing up with gratitude and feeling energized to edit, adjust and say no!Alli uses her own life journey to show ways that God has directed her journey in pursuing her life calling. She writes about the beginning and end of BlissDom. Within the journey Alli reveals that obedience doesn’t always look like we think it should. “Here’s the thing about Breaking Busy, sometimes it calls for tough choices, for making drastic choices even in the place where you’ve been highly successful.” Reading these words lifted a huge weight off my chest that I didn’t realize I was still carrying. The weight from guilt of walking away from a season of life that was filled with success. Learning to balance obedience and calling is challenging and as I read Breaking Busy is affirmed many areas in both my life and Ordell’s where things are on track.I deeply appreciated the balance of tender and honesty that Alli writes with, her heart to help women love their lives more fully shines through. I realized while reading this book that checked off “to do” lists and boundary establishing may patch up our stress for awhile, but piling bandaid upon bandaid won’t stop the wounds from coming. We must figure out how to find balance and correctly prioritize by breaking busy in order to live the lives God calls us to.

I do have a way-too-full calendar of things I say YES to because they sound like good things
If you're an overwhelmed mom with a jam-packed calendar, you might want to give it a read. LOTS of people say YES to things they shouldn't out of guilt or obligation. I hear it from people I talk to every single day. If that's you, then you definitely should read this book. Alli has several very practical suggestions for how to do that in a clear and kind way. :) Me? I don't fall into that category. I'm ok with saying no to things that don't match up with my schedule, talents and interests. However...I do have a way-too-full calendar of things I say YES to because they sound like good things, fun things, and important things. And for that reason, this book was a helpful opportunity to evaluate and identify where I should be using my efforts and talents NOW, not just where my talents and interests are. My biggest takeaway from the book has been that you have to identify what your *current* calling is--and that it can change, so you have to constantly be aware and reevaluating. That means instead of just adding more responsibilities, you may need to stop doing some good things to make room for new and better things.

Amazing, wise words for those weighed down by the busy
I often find myself in a season of feeling overwhelmed with the busy, longing to find a way to better steward the time I have. Each season has come for various reasons and each time the Lord has been faithful to send me something that meets me where I am to persevere through that season. This time it was in the form of this book from Alli Worthington. The words were encouraging, wise, and helpful. I felt like I was talking with a friend who understood, who had been there, and had amazing advice for this season of busy. If you are feeling weighed down by your to-do list or the things you should be doing, this book will meet you right where your at.

Great Read! I finished the entire book.
I am always busy doing something, therefore reading this book was something I wasn't busy for. I read the entire book to the end. Only took me 5 days to read. This book was hard to put down because I can relate to what the Author is saying through this book. There are biblical scriptures to relate to her everyday needs/obstacles she has gone through. These are insightful and motivational aspects of the book anyone can relate to. I was so amazed at how my beliefs were the same ways as someone else! If you are looking for a great book to read this one is a must read. I have yet to succeed on my own as an independent individual for a home based crafting business. But I do have goals and dreams.

This book is good. I feel like she has a lot of ...
This book is good. I feel like she has a lot of insight and good tips and such on how to break free of the busy life cycle. But at one point it got hard to read because it turns into a big life biography and about her relationship with god rather then the point of the book.

Life changing
This book really made so much sense to me, it's helped me to feel more confident "staying in my lane" and see that while there are many good things to be doing in life, they aren't all for me to do!
