Spice and Wolf, Vol. 2

Can’t recommend this series enough

One of my favourites light novels. The characters are amazing and the economical context is refreshing and catching. It is a fantasy novel with an original story. It'll make you laught, cry and get angry because it is easy to get involve in the story. If you are not a english speaker, some parts can be difficult to understand.

I fell in love with Spice and Wolf when I watched the anime. I only got into the light novels recently, and I don't regret it. Although the anime was beautiful, the novels have more depth to them. Vol. 2 fleshes out on quite a few things that went unexplained during Season 1. I can't wait to read the rest of the novels.

Spice & Wolf is one of the best mangas I've read, so I decided I would try and see what the light novels were light. Though I'm studying japanes, my level in not high enough as to read them in their original language. This brought me to buy the engleshi translation via Amazon.com. It was really worth it, i love the series and the translation is flawless, the artwork is great too. If you've seen the anime, or read the manga, I reccomend buying this, and if you haven't I do too, cause this is, hands down, one of the greatest pieces of literature I've ever read

The second volume of Lawrence and Holo's journey continues the world building, although mostly through Lawrence's thoughts, reveling the harsh realities of the world they inhabit. Somewhat to trope, Lawrence is presented with an possibly alternative to Holo; but the story manages to avoid feeling too cliche due to the witty dialog. In the end we again see the lengths to Holo is willing to go for Lawrence and Lawrence learns a valuable lesson in greed.

There are less in depth economic descriptions than in the first volume, so it felt easier to read. If I was unsure about the series before, I'm sure I like it now.I got the impression early in the book that Lawrence obtained swords, but then at a later part it said they were sets of armor."Even though her "bed" was packed full of sword hilts...""Twenty sets of armor."This must have been either an editing or translation error.

My son loves this series. He said that he likes the illustrations throughout. I plan on buying the entire series for him.

This light novel is absolutely beautiful. Amazing drama, amazing characters. Everything in this little book is brilliant. If you liked the first one you will definitely love the second volume. The only thing that made me like less than the first is that the pictures in the second volume and apparently in the next volumes are not colored, but equally impressive!

Nice book in english.

Came to the novels after watching the anime, and was pleasantly surprised by the English translation. The writing doesn't feel clunky at all. The book itself has a nice gloss cover, beautiful art on the inside covers, and a few black and white illustrations throughout. Fantastic purchase.

Hay un tono tan distinto de este libro en comparación de otros. Me ha tocado leer libros que me cautivan por su fuerte tonalidad, sangrientas batallas o constantes situaciones de vida o muerte. Esta serie logra transmitir un aura de serenidad en la mayoría de sus páginas, con sólo el suficiente toque de las situaciones que mencioné anteriormente. La cereza de una deliciosa nieve de vainilla, por ponerlo de una forma.Súper recomendada.
