It is drastically heavier than another brand new non or-ring chain I have. I decided to try the X-ring chain. Taking a few links out was very hard, but a good thing. This chain is STRONG! The only part that was not favorable was installing the master link. It took 2 pairs of pliers to compress the rings and then another pair of pliers to push the clip into position. If something happened on a trail with minimal tools, I don't think you could get the masterlink with rings back on. I almost ditched the final 2 rings when installing in my garage. Depending on how long it lasts, I might do it again.
