## Description

Created in the 1940's in collaboration with Picasso, these creamy, lipstick-like pastels are rich in pigment, cover well and have outstanding opacity and lightfastness. They may be thinned with turpentine and worked with a brush, are acid-free and can be applied to any surface. The set includes 48 color pastels.

Review: Beautiful - I have the main 48 colors but if you’re looking for something with portrait or skin tones, I would suggest getting the portrait set. If you have both like me, there are some repeat colors. I absolutely love the packaging. It’s worth the money. The quality is beyond what you pay for, they are soft without being too soft. They are easy to blend and layer. You will end up with pigment all over your hands though. So be careful when touching your art. Having said that. I would recommend getting a cheaper set like the lightwish oil pastels so you don’t end up using your very expensive ones on your first layer of art. This is what I compare all other oil pastels to. I love these.

**Q: Can these be used on chalk painted surfaces,  such as annie sloan paint or dixie belle paint to add highlights? then spray with a fixatif to seal?**
A: My good guess is yes. But why not just use the paint to highlight? You'll have/create a different texture and visual texture with the oil pastel.

Love these oil pastels! They are incredibly soft and easy to work with. Colors are vibrant! While they are expensive, the cost is worth it if you use oil pastels regularly in your art.
