Great Product, Great service
Purchased two of these to keep our products at optimal viscosity during the winter. They worked great last winter. With cold weather approaching we set them up and noticed one wasn't working properly. We determined one of the controllers wasn't working. I contacted Powerblanket customer service and provided them with the serial number and they shipped me a new one under warranty. Brian at Powerblanket was great.

Temperature controller failed
Blanket appeared to be a quality product, but after 2 light uses in one year the controller failed. These controllers fail prematurely and Powerblanket refused to warranty the controller due to it being months over one year since it was purchased. This indicates to me the company views the controllers as a consumable part so plan on buying new temperature controllers as needed.

Tote blanket started melting
I would give it a zero star if I could. I purchased this product on in early January and now it is early march and the blanket has started to melt. This is a safety concern and now that I am just under 2 months of owning the product I am outside the return window. I would not recommend this product. Being out $1,200 for a little over a month's worth of use is horrible.

Smart Controller Included
Powerblankets are a great way to heat precisely what you need to heat without worry of uneven, intermittent, overheating or inefficient power use.I find them to be job site tough, durable and field repairable with the Vinyl repair kit utilizing the HH-66 glue. They are heavy duty and can take a lot of abuse. The machine sewn stitching is very heavy duty. The belts, clasps and reinforcing are securely attached to the blankets. They can take a lot of use.The thing I notice the most is how even the heat is across the entire mat. Whatever you wrap or cover with it you can count on an even heat spread. If you add a temperature controller like the Beacon controllers with which Powerblankets has teamed up with, you can precisely dial in the temperature control . I like how you can measure the temperature at several points. Inside the blanket, the surface of the blanket or the temp of the product. Beacon even has an IOT connected controller than you can control and monitor remotely. These blankets are pretty easy to handle. They not only heat but also insulate so they have some thickness to them. However they are still relatively lightweight for their size. They are somewhat rigid and that makes them easier to handle. It is kind of like working with lightweight workout mats.Unlike some other materials they remain flexible in very cold environments. Even the cords remain flexible down to colder temperatures.Made in the USA. Yep. Designed, engineered and manufactured right here at home. ETL and UL/CAS listed. They have an average lifespan of constant use in around the 4-6 year timeframe. 1 Year Warranty. This tote version comes with a Smart Controller (not Beacon WiFi version) which is compatible with a variety of heating and cooling devices. Because the blanket has the power to heat up fast you can save power by reducing the 1440 watts 12A to times when you need the product to be heated (just like a programable HVAC thermostat). The controller alone can pay for itself in a season under some applications. Weighs around 45 lbs.

Super consistent heat, clear directions
The Powerblanket line has obviously been designed and made with quality and care in mind - the materials are nice, look like they will stand up to a lot of use, and even the directions have been written clearly. This particular model is top of the line - very big, wraps all the way around larger barrels, and has a great thermostat. I use these for keeping a consistent temp for naturally derived soaps, waxes, and dermatological products I make. This is a really expensive solution but I have noticed significantly less energy usage as I'm not heating things up, waiting for them to cool down, or wasting energy. I also am able to get a lot more done in a faster time frame. So if you need consistent heat over a large area, this feels like a very energy efficient solution. The temp seems to be incredibly consistent - super impressed.
