Healing Ointment

Great ointment, I from Utah and dry skin is very common. I put this all over my body even my face. Keeps my skin moist at least in the Utah weather, if you are in a different weather environment please test it first, it’s a thick consistency and might cause pimples for certain types of skin. For the price it’s worth it, and it last for months.

This is hands down one of the best occlusive "creams" out there to use for slugging, lip care, deep hydration after facial treatments that need skin protection. This lasts a long time also. This is great on the heels with fluffy socks on over night.

CeraVe Healing Ointment is amazing for my lips. I’ve tried tons of lip balms — Vaseline, Burt’s Bees, even Aquaphor — but this one just works better. It keeps my lips soft, hydrated, and protected for hours without feeling greasy. I also use it on dry spots anywhere — cuticles, hands, and patches of skin in winter. It locks in moisture and heals fast. If you want a comparison, I’d say CeraVe vs. Aquaphor is like Pepsi vs. Coke or Amazon vs. Walmart — both are good, but for me, CeraVe wins most time. It spreads smoothly, feels light, and lasts all day. Seriously, toss the other lip balms and grab this — you won’t regret it.

This ointment absolutely saved my skin. I had a bad reaction from tretinoin after accidentally applying it too close to my eyes, and my eyelids became extremely irritated—almost swollen shut. It was painful, tight, and honestly a little scary. I started using this, and within three days my skin was completely healed. The difference was incredible. It immediately soothed the irritation, reduced the swelling, and helped repair my skin barrier faster than anything I’ve ever tried. I have very sensitive skin, and this didn’t sting or cause any additional irritation at all. It’s simple, effective, and does exactly what it claims. A little goes a long way, and it creates the perfect protective layer while your skin heals. This is now a staple in my routine, especially when using actives like tretinoin. If your skin is compromised, irritated, or over-treated, this is something you want on hand. Total must-have.

So the reason for the four stars and not five is the following. The description for this product states this does not leave a greasy feel or film. I have to disagree as it does leave a bit of a greasy film and feel. A little goes a very long way so start small and add more if you require it. This is what I do as I use this only for my hands due to sever dry hands from constant washing using a medicated hand wash for my skin condition that is only on my hands. This product works extremely good and is a life saver for my dry hand condition giving me hands that are soft again and do not feel like dry leather. I just started using this product on the date of this review as this is when I received it. I like it so much that I purchased the larger 12oz container for home and a 9oz container for taking with me when I'm out of the house to keep my hands feeling and looking their best. I do highly recommend this healing ointment as it does what is says with the exception of the greasy feel and film that it does leave on your skin. It is not a heavy amount but that will also depend on how much you use. I use a very light amount just enough to provide what I need for protect and hydrate my skin.

I love this ointment! I strongly prefer its texture over things like Vaseline or Aquaphor. The CeraVe ointment is far less greasy than the others. It's very thick, so you don't need a ton of it at one time. It's great for when I deal with things like cracked heels, cracked cuticles, chapped lips, really dry skin, etc. The only problem is that it can be hard to squeeze out of the tube. My fix for that is not to use the flip-top cap (which has a very small opening), but to take the whole cap off (which creates a larger opening that's much easier to squeeze the ointment through.) I also appreciate that it comes in the five-ounce size. That lasts a lot longer than the three-ounce tube, but isn't a huge tub like the 12-ounce one. I highly recommend this product!

obsessed. this stuff is amazing for extremely dry hands and is an awesome lip balm as well. really multi-purpose and lasts forever. highly recommend.

Comes out like lithium grease, and smooths out like fine butter. Comes out an opaque white, and smooths out to a clear see-thru film. Very tacky stuff that holds a firm shape when coming out of the container. Wipes on easily. No real scent to speak of. When I read on the back of their "healing ointment" that it was 46.5% petrolatum as the active ingredient I was highly skeptical that it'd actually work... I had tried probably 6 other products to try and cure a spot in a bad region that was continuously itching and keeping me awake at night it was so bad... Tried the CeraVe healing ointment, and while it didnt make the problem go away immediately, I did notice a significant reduction in itching and a big improvement (but not complete solution) in comfort within the next couple days...

This ointment is really a miracle for itchy skin! I been using benzoyl peroxide cleanser and I follow up with my A ret cream after skin care which caused my skin to be extremely dry and itchy at night time, it’s really working amazingly without clogging my pores or breaking out my skin!

Can't do anything without this product it became a main step in my skincare routine. It treated my super dry skin.

Questa camma in tempo. Questo prodotto è favoloso io lo uso per le mie labbra secche ed è così rilassante e in realtà le mie labbra sono molto meno irritato durante il giorno ora. Lo adoro, comprerebbe di nuovo.

Debido a que tengo dermatitis de contacto en manos por el uso de gel antibacterial en pandemia, el dermatologo me recetó aquaphore, el cual he usado ya bastante tiempo y me ha resultado digamos que bien, vi que ya vendían esta crema en México y decidí pedirla, tenía ya rato con una herida en mi mano debido al frío y la resequedad que no había podido sanar, tengo apenas como una semana que empecé con esta crema y me ha dejado sorprendida, aunque es más grasa que aquaphore pero se absorbe mejor y la humectacion se siente más y dura más tiempo, mi herida y mis brotes de dermatitis se han quitado, siento mis manos suaves, humectadas. Super recomendable, superó mis expectativas.
