Simply Glamorous: Make-up Transformations to Make You Look & Feel Fabulous

This book is very lush. Not only is it physically well made with a nice stiff spine, it also has thick sturdy pages. The photos are beautiful and plentiful. Lots of info on contouring and before and after photos on everyday women. Absolutely stunning transformations. This book definitely ranks in my top 5 makeup books and I probably have about 100 of them! I found this book informative and enjoyable. In my opinion it is a must have.

I have several of the top-rated makeup books and this one is by far the best. There are tips in here that I have not seen in books or countless you tube videos, such as don't apply blush to the apples of your cheeks if you have a round face and don't let highlighter powder sit on the surface of your skin. The photos are plentiful, the text helpful. There are many wearable looks. If I had to take one makeup book and/or you tube channel to a desert island (ridiculous, I know), it would be this one.

A very good book to learn and improve with. The different lessons are complete and easy to understand. The makeup techniques Gary teaches are creative and straightforward ... very happy I bought this book.

This book is AMAZING! I own a lot of makeup books but Simply Glamorous is one of my favorites out of all of them! The makeup in the book is absolutely stunning! I am EXTREMELY happy I purchased this book!

This book came early and was loaded with great info.

More detail is needed as to products and how they shine more, have more color, last longer.

Oh WOW! This was a birthday present and I am delighted. Now in my early 50s, I wanted to learn new looks without looking like mutton dressed as lamb. Who at my age wants eyebrows that look like they have been sponsored by Nike? Yes most of the models in this book are young and stunning, but Gary tells you to be confident and try new things. I now have learned by reading this book how to contour my face, what the difference in between a BB and CC cream and yes-even at my age I can pull off the new blue eye shadow trend with out looking like Coco The Clown! This book has inspired me to go and do some retail therapy in the make up stores-and hopefully my husband will think he is taking out a newer more glamours model. Do yourself a favour girls- buy the book and give thanks to Gary Cockerill for a new lease of life!

Der Titel ist wirklich ernst zu nehmen: sollte die Leserin sich jemals als WAG oder Glamour Model für einen Auftritt auf dem roten Teppich oder ein Photo-Shooting schminken müssen, ist sie mit diesem Buch bestens beraten. Die Tipps sind nicht zuletzt dank der reich bebilderten Schritt-für-Schritt-Anleitungen auch für Anfänger umsetzbar. Deswegen bekommt das Buch vier Sterne von mir.Man muss sich allerdings im Klaren sein, dass die Looks dem sowieso schon wesentlich kräftiger auflegendem britischen Geschmack entsprechen. Außerhalb von rotem Teppich und Photo-OPs sehen die Looks angemalt aus und vermitteln den Eindruck, dass man abends eine Hilti zum Abschminken braucht.

J'ai enfin reçu ce livre que j'attendais tant, les photos font rêver et oui, c'est vraiment glamour. Les transformations avant / après sont assez spectaculaires, ce livre me rappelle les makeovers que faisait aussi le regretté Kevin Aucoin. Les photos sont soignées. Bon après je ne sais pas si le maquillage est forcément très réalisable surtout la partie contouring qui demande de l'expertise et d'avoir du temps, et un bon éclairage, mais quoiqu'il en soit ce livre est agréable à lire, il fait rêver. J'avais acheté un autre livre de maquillage où les modèles étaient si quelconques et peu avantagées par la nature, que malgré application du maquillage, il y avait si peu de changement que cela n'était pas convainquant du tout. Je souhaite donc bonne chance à cet artiste qui doit lancer sa ligne de maquillage en 2016 !
