The little grill that could!
I wanted a portable charcoal grill. The Smokey Silver is supposedly made in the US and was my first choice, BUT the beach we go to can get a little windy at times and I was afraid the grill might topple over. I also didn't like that it didn't seem very "carry friendly" with nothing to secure the lid to the base. The Go Anywhere had everything that I wanted, EXCEPT that it was made in China. Not at all happy with that, but the BF sold me on the Go Anywhere and I'm very pleased with my purchase. I just wish it was made in the US. I've had this grill for 2 weeks and have already used it 6 times; Fri, Sat, & Sun two weeks in a row. I LOVE this grill! It's fantastic and so easy to use. It's small, but you'd be surprised at how much you can cram onto the rack with the right about amount of charcoal and heat. We packed 6 large boneless ribeyes and they cooked up perfectly. My BF's coworker came back from a fishing trip in Alaska and shared some of the salmon he brought back with my BF so we used some Kiawe wood chips that we had and smoked the salmon in the grill as well. They couldn't get over how good it was. It also packs up nicely and was quick and easy to assemble. My BF dropped the lid on the concrete in my garage and the lid now has a ding and some paint was removed. He gets and F, but this grill gets an A+! I'm a total shopzilla and have to say that this is probably the best $50 I've spent in a while. UPDATE 10/1/12: Still loving this grill and have been using it almost every weekend. We should probably be sick of grilling by now, but it's just so much fun. We've continued to grill up steak, hamburgers, chicken, shrimp, sausages, smoked salmon, marinated mushrooms, peppers, asparagus, zucchini, s'mores, etc. I try to do everything on the grill when we fire it up so I even make a little foil box and throw in sliced mushrooms with minced garlic, butter, and parsley while the other stuff cooks - yum! Not sure how the other reviewer managed to melt off the handles. The handles do get very warm/hot, but you learn that the first time you use the grill. We cheat and use a small chimney starter for our coals and fill it to about the top. This includes recycled briquettes from the last time we BBQ'd. My BF just throws em in a container once they're cool so we can use them the next time we BBQ. It really doesn't take much coal to get good heat. You just need to be patient and wait for them to get white/ashy. If the coals get too hot, carefully close the vents a bit...if they start to lose heat, open the vents up. The heat isn't difficult to control once you get the hang of adjusting the vents. The Weber instructions also give you an idea of how many coals to start off with based on what Weber grill you're using and what you're cooking. If we're starving and can't wait, sometimes my BF will grab his cordless Makita blower to speed things up in the chimney starter. Still think this is one of my best purchases to date...can't beat $50 on Amazon!

this is the best portable charcoal bbq on the market
For the money, this is the probably one of the best portable charcoal bbqs on the market; far and above better than the many cheap, flimsy and poor quality Chinese-manufactured units available. You won't be disappointed with this bbq, the quality and finish are impressive and the attention to detail becomes evident when you use this for the first time....side air vent sliders are integrated into the fold up legs which clip into place to hold the unit closed for easy carrying; the top lid has two small inside hooks to hang the lid on the edge of the bbq (very useful as a wind break or just a handy place to keep the lid)l; two adjustable vents on the lid allow for temperature adjustment; the handles are durable and comfortable to hold even when the unit is being used; the cooking grill is easy to remove and clean as is the charcoal rack - I followed the advice of others that suggested lining the bottom with foil before using to allow for quick and easy removal of the ash at the end of the bbq. Plenty of cooking area, holds a good amount of charcoal and stays hot for a long time. All in all, very happy with this product!

Well designed and well thought out charcoal grill!
This is my favourite charcoal grill so far and I have a few of them. Great quality and well built. I liked the way it folds, so it would be more compact and easy to move around. Its triangular shape makes it way easier to grill compared to the round shaped ones I had in the past!

Great Tailgating Grill
I purchased this grill in 2013 and am writing this review in 2021. The grill was easy to assemble. It sets up in seconds and breaks down just as quick. It is light and easy to carry. Because it is small and rectangular it fits nice in my Mazda trunk or Back of my Tacoma pickup. I’ve grilled with both briquettes and lump charcoal. Couple weekends ago, I prepared lunch (venison sausage, brisket hot dogs, bacon brats, and baked beans) for 4 men two days in a row using the same hardwood lump charcoal (which is still in the grill ready for the next cook). The vents fit nice and tight and put the coals out when your done. The grill usually cools down to the point where it is barely warm by the time we are done eating. This lets me put it away which is handy when tailgating in a parking lot and don’t want to leave it out. Since the vents do fit tightly, I adjust them by tapping them up or down with one of my grill utensils. The first time I used it, I set it on top of my Coleman cooler to get it up off the ground. Well, it radiated enough heat to warp the lid. I had a few 12 by 12 ceramic tiles I use under the grill now and have cooked on the truck tailgate without problems. Otherwise, I find a surface to set it on that is not heat sensitive, like a campsite grill, metal bench, rock, sidewalk etc. I’ve used a cast iron Dutch oven to make cobblers and cakes on it. Have a few 6 inch cast iron skillets for doing eggs, potatoes, hash, pork roll etc. This grill has been used about 10 times a year over the last 7 years. It is almost like new and is still doing the job.
