The product write-up should be more clear. The floor lamp does NOT have adjustable brightness. If you are looking for bright, white light, then this will be suitable. I would prefer if it were dimmable and the color could be shifted towards warm. I haven't tried to move the gooseneck around much, but the top part of it can be adjusted in position. There are no directions as to how to assemble, but it is basically screwing three rods together and then into the base. However, you have to remove little black plastic protective rings in order to be able to screw in, and you will have to carefully, gently pull the cord at the bottom in order to be able to screw the rods together.

This lamp us sturdy and adjustable but the light is too bright and required me to add a gel dampener to make it tolerable. Would be perfect without such a harsh led bulb

Overall, an okay lamp. Would prefer it to have more than one light level, but overall, does the job. It was packaged in its original box and nothing else. The box was soaked with water and falling apart. Fortunately, the lamp and parts did not get wet. I’d like to know how it got soaked. Also, it screws into the base about a half inch which seems like not enough to keep it stable, but so far okay. So, 3 stars overall for packaging and one light level.

The strength of this light is the ability to move it very close to whatever task/project/craft you are working on. The combination of the narrow base & the long neck makes it very easy to position it anywhere within a crowded/cluttered workspace. While the lamp itself is significantly less powerful than most wall or ceiling mounted lights, it totally wins on brightness when you bring it within a few inches of your subject.If you need a general desk + reading light, you probably want to get more diffuse & higher-wattage light. The lamp is only 5 watts, so it isn't quite bright enough to cover an entire desk. Also, because the light source is so small, it will cause a glare on your book or screen.

Adds a nice ambience to the evening light. Bought this for picky-mom. It didn't serve her needs, so my hubby and i kept it. I love it. and it's a bendy, sturdy base, touch lighting. A win win.

I bought this for the directional light when watching TV. I like to watch TV in a darker room and don't need a regular lamp that lights up the whole room. This can shine over my should at what I am reading and just keep that illuminated. It turns on/off from a floor switch so I had to make an adjustment and put that on the table next to me. It has worked out fine.

This floor lamp is really really really great! Mine doesn't have a remote control. It has a "step for on-step for off" button disk on the cord on the floor. It's fine. Not sure want a remote control. Just another thing that needs a battery and maintenance. The gooseneck adjustability is very user friendly. I'd recommend this lamp to anyone.

I bought this to use after eye surgery to be able to read clearer. It worked beautifully. I will continue to use it for reading since it is focused illumination even after my post-op needs. It places a nice bright white light on what I am reading resulting in less eye strain.
