I bought 3 pairs in the 'pewter', which is actually a lovely silvery grey color with a shimmer. They are definitely lined, and block out the light. The material is very soft yet great quality, and they are quite heavy too. Its a shame that I had to re-order one set of curtains as they sent one set in the wrong color. However, that was Amazon's fault and I could not find any fault with the curtains so I did not deduct a star for that. These curtains are for the living room and I'm trying to get a good look in this room where a low quality pair wouldn't suffice. I was a little apprehensive about buying curtains online as there's only so much you can tell from the photos and you can't get a good idea of the feel of them. However, knowing that it's easy to return them on Amazon, I took a chance on these and bought 2 pairs along with tie backs.The curtains are a nice heavy weight and have backing on them. This is great as it helps insulate the room. I live in an old, cold farmhouse, so retaining heat is a priority.The blackout feature of them isn't needed by me as it's the living room, but I can confirm that they do a really good job of this too. When I come down in the morning it's almost pitch black.
