The Big Lebowski

Great to read but key things missing
As the headline says, love reading the script so I can think about it (and I was probably more amused reading it than I was watching the movie). However, there is meaning in visual shots in the movie that are not described in this script. I need to watch the movie again and fill those in. Published screenplays do vary in how much of the visual scene they describe, but this surprised me.

"It's like Lenin said, you look for the person who will benefit, and, ah, ah... You know what I'm saying..."
I love The Big Lebowski, and seeing this movie by reading the script, adds another dimension of "funny" to the story for me. The Coen brothers are extremely talented, as are all of the people involved in making this movie happen. The script reads much like the dialogue in the movie. The great bonus is that the script is not exactly like the dialogue, so you get to read a slightly different version of the story, only slightly, but I like the little nuanced differences. Another bonus, there are pictures in this script. The clarity of the pictures in my copy are not very good, but I really don't care. I've seen the movie a thousand times so they're just a nice little "side thing". I highly recommend this to anyone who is into The Big Lebowski, just think, if you are camping in the woods, or stuck in a power outage, you don't need a tablet, or a DVD player, just your mind.

If you quote this movie, read the screenplay for even more insight!
This is one of my all-time favorite movies. I've seen it many times and have bought it in multiple formats.I finally got around to reading the screenplay and I loved it. Yes, it's pretty much the same as the movie. But not quite. Evidently some of the best lines in the movie were improvised by the actors. However, I got the biggest thrills from the parts that were actually exactly as written. Wow. They actually captured the essence of these actors -- down to the self-interruptions and half-finished sentences -- long before shooting the film. I'm in awe. If I ever decide to write a screenplay, this will be my textbook.

Hilarious cult classic!
A hilarious cult classic and one of best-written, language-loving screenplays ever. "The Dude abides."

A perfect accessory for fans of the movie
This volume is as advertised--the actual script for the classic movie. I have purchased it for myself and for others who enjoy the movie, always with the same encouragement: open this script to any page and find the funniest line, which is something I do several times a week myself.

The best!
The best movie of all times :) I didn't really need this book because I know all the dialogues by heart since I have watched this movie a zillion times.

The Dude...
Hubby loves everything related to the movie. He is a bit obsessed, actually. We have a room with several framed paintings of 'The Dude' and this book just adds to the collection of The Big L 'stuff' we own. Crazy, but he likes it, so oh well... The screenplay gives a whole new perspective of the movie.. interesting read.
